re: Anyone ever gotten the "good" buggy at a supermarket? Or does the "good" buggy even exist?

Its a conspiracy of the lizard people who run the world....they make oblong wheels for shopping buggies to frick with us mortals....

Whenever I am at the grocery and I'm finished loading my car I see a person walking towards the store and say "Need a cart? This one has good wheels"... They laugh and immediately grab the cart...

It really depends on the store, my local H-E-B has great shopping carts.
I can't imagine anyone ever having a derogatory thought or expression about H-E-B. We don't have them, as far as I know they are only in Texas....but damn they nearly make grocery shopping, if not a pleasurable experience, the kick in the nuts it is at most grocery stores....

One time. It was as smooth as butter.

Shop at better places
The quality of the grocery story is directly correlated to the quality of the buggies

The worse is if you get the one with the hair weave stuck in the wheel. It took me three tries to find a decent one at Walmart the other day.
I wonder how well they are cleaned when they get them back from the homeless encampments.

a fricked up wheel?
This is known as the CRAZY WHEEL and is a feature on all shopping carts in Louisiana. I personally don't subscribe to the Buggy thing. You can figure those out for yourself.

I have bad luck with this when I get a cart, also. Most of the time, I'm only getting enough for a handheld basket though. The stores that don't offer those are frustrating.

I know how to tell if one has a fricked up wheel or not. But I can’t tell you the secret or the good ones will always be taken.

Probably the worst ones are where the customers don't return them to the cart corral.
They get pushed sideways by car bumpers.

Last time I was in Walmart I stopped at the WD40 display and lubed up the wheels

I know as a teenager, working at Bruno’s Supermarket in the 1990s I can’t recall ever having a bad cart.
I know because I had to bring in thousands of them every weekend.
Maybe they don’t make them like they used to?

My local Publix recently replaced all of theirs with brand new, they are great. Outside of that, I agree they are all messed up in some way, and recently I've noticed they don't come apart so easily as they have in the past, and that's everywhere. My first job was a bag boy at Kroger and had to retrieve all the carts from the parking lot as part of the job, I'm very adept at shopping cart functionality but lately these dam things have some design change that makes them a pain in the neck to separate.

That is quite the Hank Hill move of you.

I think the smaller grocery stores have better carts because they typically retrieve them from the parking lot more frequently, keeping them out of the elements. Also that motorized thing that Walmart uses to push the 300 foot, 2 ton line of buggies has to be tearing the wheels up.

I feel your pain. Around here Market Basket has much better carts than
Kroger. Rouses are alright.

HEB never has a bad one.
Stores are relatively new around me though.

I have never had a problem with Dollar General carts.
