We really didn't experience many. Compared to other big cities, it isn't near close to the top in beggers. Houston takes that one

My sister got me tickets to the LSU vs. UW game in 2009 as she worked for UGA Bulldog Radio at the time. Took my two twin sons to the game when they were five. Best damned time ever and they were treated like kings by the Tiger faithful in the parking lot. They made it through the end of the 3rd. Qtr. before we left for home.

I visited Seattle last summer and I thought that it was pretty great. My wife had a friend that works as a designer at a pretty big architecture firm up there and she gave us the nickel tour while we were there. If you live in the city, housing is pretty expensive. Tons of stuff to do. All kinds of construction going on right now. Their transit system didn't seem to be as grimy as other big cities (NYC, DC, Chicago). As others have said the beer and music scenes are pretty good. It is pretty wild to go shopping and see so many people wearing Amazon or Google work badges. If I could find a way to pull my wife out of the Midwest, I'd live there in a heartbeat.

Friend of mine from here did this right outside an AFB in Mississippi and made a killing as they just don't exist down there. I can throw a rock and hit three of them from my back yard

I HATE Seattle. Everybody I know loves Seattle. I was there for three weeks in 05 and the temp was like 40-44 degrees , 24 hours a day, with a fine mist EVERY SINGLE DAY. I wanted to Kurt Cobain myself. So I went back a few months later, and all I got was a bunch of pasty-faced hipsters talking about how awesome it was. I've spent like 40 days total there total through the years and I tried so hard to like it. I really did. But I just don't get it. Yet everybody raves. 
Now Vancouver, THAT is a great city.

TOTALLY different vibe. Totally. Vancouver is a lot prettier too, with the mountains so close. That drive to Whistler is money.
Seattle just leaves me cold. I don't really care for the self-congratulatory "aren't we awesome" Seattle talk. Almost as bad as Denver(which I love).
Look, I know I'm wrong about Seattle. Everybody thinks I'm crazy. But it's too gritty/gray/blah/annoying West Coast Yankee for me. The whole ethic of the place annoys me.
Seattle just leaves me cold. I don't really care for the self-congratulatory "aren't we awesome" Seattle talk. Almost as bad as Denver(which I love).

Seattle was fun when I visited. However, the weather is mostly cold and damp with very little sunshine.
Be prepared to get S.A.D. and or rickets.
That being said, I think it is a neat area. I would strongly consider living there.

seattle is equally as pretty and has skiable mountains closer. it takes over 2 hours to get to whistler from vancouver. could probably get there from seattle in under 5. plus, canadians are the worst brah.

Went there for a week a couple of years ago. Noticed it was cloudy and kind of sprinkled everyday. Didn't see a single black guy when I was there but I did see a ton of emo type folk. City seemed nice. Gas was high.

Seattle is exploding right now. So many educated, middle and upper-middle class people are moving there right now.
Unfortunately, all this demand means housing prices are high.
I know a guy who just got hired by Amazon. He had to take a lie detector test and all that jazz.

We have them here and I saw the figures on how much money the guys who own those things make and it was amazing. Drive time lines are long.
