Last week at my sons tournament, in Gadsden, Al one of the coaches for the 9 year old all star team was in full uni. Hat, jersey, pants and turf shoes.

Never know when those turf shoes will come in handy for a 9 year old teams coach. Good investment.
Can he go in the game if everyone is hurt too?

the requirement is written into the rules for boys' baseball in a lot of places. I'm just glad the calf length baseball pants and stirrups have gone out of style/tradition.

The Royals require their minor leaguers to wear their pants up. I can't remember if they require stirrups, but I think they might.

Cornelius McGillicuddy (Connie Mack) not only managed the Philadelphia Athletics, he also owned them.

One reason he was the only ML baseball manager to wear a suit.

It's because they are allowed on the field of play. Per skip bertman - he was asked this question in one of his radio shows

This if because they are the only coaches that are technically allowed to enter the field of play.

Out of all the responses this is the correct one

Maybe it's a way of reminding the players to stay humble, because that's what they are going to look like in 50 years...
