holy shite
so saying that most of the aura of Nola is based around drinking and that it's one of the most dangerous areas in the entire US is being a "wet blanket"?

I've always avoided big Mardi gras. Benefit never outweighed the risk.

Yes.
You’re falling back into your liberal ways of latter years.

Like I just said. My wife and kids and most of her friends and their kids don’t drink and they love this city more than most.
The drinking part is lagniappe

the comment about the violence in Nola is objective fact (especially these days with it encroaching on the tourist areas so much)
and i made a point about drinking. feel free to refute it or just keep admitting my point was correct and you're upset that you really don't want to admit that it's all about drinking. still doesn't make me a "wet blanket"

I guess it does. Let’s not forget. We all know who you are. You’re a pussy

Your point is redundant and water headed, Jew boy.

what about Nola, compared to any other metro area, makes your kids love it so much? what variables are exclusive to Nola?
and trying the "kids" argument is a bad one when we're talking about a city that basically requires you to live outside of the city or send them to private school
Posted on 2/10/18 at 7:38 pm to SlowFlowPro
Why do you care? It’s not like you’ll ever have kids

Neither apply to my family.

It’s hard to explain to someone that’s never left the cornfields of Cameron Parish.

Personally, I wish they would gather all of the sluts in one area instead of making me wade through the rest of the trash for them

Mardi Gras is the dumbest, trashiest garbage.
I see nothing remotely fun or interesting about fighting crowds of people for plastic beads that will be thrown away as soon as the parade is done.

Seriously bro, do you ever get out of your roommates apartment?
Posted on 2/10/18 at 7:46 pm to SG_Geaux
i get being part of something very enormous and bigger than yourself
i get the need to try to feel you don't have a drinking problem if you can come up with bullshite reasons to drink all the time (and then spin it as some generic thing like "culture")
but trying to make mardi gras into something bigger than what it is always gets me. the sad part is the people who fight teh most for it are the running joke of the people who benefit from mardi gras the most (the glassmans, er, men, of the world)
