My family was unable to get together for thanksgiving due to the women not being able to get along.

Next year my brother and I will just do it together.

My PawPaw used to say "if they didn't have what's between their legs they'd have a price on their heads".

This is somewhat different, but have any of you experienced the well meaning grandma or aunt who won't take no for an answer when it comes to eating something?

My wife has an aunt who is 90+ that I almost had to get loud with because she kept trying to force a slice of her cherry pie on me when I just was not hungry. I was polite in my first response, a little more stern with my second response, and almost said something I'd regret for my 3rd response, but I reigned myself in and she finally gave up.

The only issue we have with my wife’s family is if the food is not ready to eat at noon lol. They are all pretty much classy people with no issues. On my side however we have some family members that just like to be negative and derogatory but we’ve all basically said if that is what you are gonna do don’t bother coming, and 9 out of 10 times they don’t. If They kind of start that crap someone will pull them aside and tell them if that’s the way you’re gonna be leave. The few Liberal family members that we have just don’t go. Most of the stuff they say anyway, they don’t believe because if they believed it, there’s no way they would marry into our family.

just take the pie. It means something to her for whatever crazy arse reason. Then just move it around the plate, throw it away and tell her how much you loved it.
