The controller that orchestrates flashing lights to the sound of thunder to simulate a storm

I've never used a light machine but I want one now. LOL

A company called "Lights Alive" sells a lot of controllers that are appropriate for home haunts.
The website is worth checking out.

I'll check it out when I get home.
Throughout October we should bookmark, bump, and use this thread to post Halloween decoration ideas, progress, and issues/solutions.
I'd like to see pics of everyone's decorations.

Great question. Do people prefer a fog machine or just good ole fashioned dry ice? Is there a way to make the dry ice effect (fog which stays close to the ground) without using dry ice?

I do. Straight up Tim Allen style.

I try and change my theme every year and when I envision the sort of reaction I want, the look I want, I think back to my childhood and watching the Home Improvement Halloween specials. Tool Man was the GOAT Halloween decorator.

I use a fog machine, it's OK, especially since you can control it remotely. But it doesn't make a cool ground hugging fog.
I've seen a fog machine that makes dry ice like fog using plain ice, but it was expensive.

Fog machines for the overall smokey look which catches lights diffuses things...dry ice for very specific things, like parts of my Mad Scientist lab where you want bubbly boiling type look.

I actually bought a fog machine that was said to do this last year by virtue of an ice compartment near the front that would cool the smoke as it came out to help keep it low to the ground. I didn't find it worked any more than the other version. Was considering dropping a few pieces of dry ice in there to see if that would do ti but was worried about freezing the fog fluid in there.

I got my fog machine from Target. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done. and i've had it since like 2008 with no problems. I'll start decorating this weekend and add pics.

A few people have already driven by and either stopped or turned around for a couple of additional looks. This is going to be fun!

A good 1000 watt fog machine like Antari will work when blown through a fog chiller.
They can be purchased or home made and you tube has some good how too videos.
Use only Froggys - the "freezing fog juice" works best through a fog chiller for that cool low lying fog like for a graveyard scene
I have had good success with their products.

Give me about 10 minutes to post a gif from last night's projection test. I think you all will like it. I still have some things to figure out (angles of projection, etc.) but so far I'm pretty satisfied.
