I was getting them a while back from “The Department of Social Security Department “. I’m pretty sure it was a scam. I also got a call from myself a while back.

Scam. We get that call at home but they dont direct it specifically at me or my wife... SSA aint callin you for info. They will frick you better than that. If they want something you will have to go to the SSA office which makes the DMV look like a well oiled machine...

Happened to me exactly as you and was a scam.

I got the same call. The Social Security office doesn't play around. They wouldn't tell me any info until I verified my social security number. Once I did that, the nice girl also verified my bank account and credit card info so that she could put a lock on it in the system to prevent fraudulent activity. She even helped me fill out the form by remoting into my PC.
She was very polite and it was refreshing to see a government worker that was actually interested in the people they're talking to rather than just treating me like a number. I think she was interested in me because we talked about random stuff like what my first pet was, where I went to school, and my mother's maiden name.

My mom did in Missouri, called me to ask what I thought about it and I let her know it was a scam

I fricked with this Chinese lady who said she was calling from Washington DC for the IRS or some bullshite. I was asking her about the weather and how her family like DC.
And I was fumbling around papers to sound like I was looking for my bank statement and SS Number. Then I told her the call was being traced and the FBI should be at her call center shortly. She hung up. I didn’t get another call for a couple of years after that.

I get a ton of scammers calling me. I usually never answer, but if I'm bored, I'll definitely frick with them. It's hilarious when they get pissed off and start cussing at me.

Yes, and if you block that number, they will have another one to call you with.
I hate these frickers with a passion. Like many, my cell phone is my work center too, so getting 10-15 calls a day is annoying.

I’ve got EIGHTEEN calls from these scammers in the last 3 hours.

Nah I frick with them. I give them made up credit card numbers and then halfway through giving the number I’ll always say that that card won’t work because it’s maxed out already. This process usually repeats itself about 5 times before they ask if I am messing with them.

I got about 10 calls like that last week
I've gotten calls polling the governor's race repeatedly, and one for the BESE board race. Plus the usual scam calls wanting me to contribute to funds for dead/injured cops and firemen.

The social security admin called me saying my number was suspended and I needed to call them to get it reactivated.
I called the number and asked to be transferred to a benefits specialist, explaining in excruciatiating detail about how I am not getting my benefits and they need to pay me.
When the indian guy asked how I got the number I explained they left me a message and wanted me to call them back. He said I wouldnt be receiving any more calls and then hung up
.
Havent called back since.

I got called about an outstanding warrant and was told to bring $1000 in google play cards and take care of the criminal matter in civil court.
I played along for awhile. Then I asked them how I could handle a criminal matter in civil court as they weren't the same. They got a bit flustered. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told he had gone home. I reminded him that all shifts at the police department had to have a watch commander on duty at all times and asked to speak to him.
That phone call ended soon after.

You should see this guy waste their time as he tries to talk them in circles.
The ones that are creepiest are the Tech Support calls.
