Some stuff is better than others. It’s cheap stuff that people buy and sell to you on Amazon for triple the price, so you’re getting a better deal through TEMU

It's all pure Chinese garbage, hence their incredibly stupid, off-target marketing schemes such as "shop like a billionaire."

For things that don’t matter if they are cheap crap/single use or just for a backup it works great.

Shipping is painfully slow, and be very careful to read the descriptions and sizes.

I use it to buy cheap versions of things that I am considering purchasing a more expensive item, or for something I know I can’t afford the brand name version yet.

One area they are absolutely racking up in is arts and crafts. They are putting a hurting on brick and mortar stores that deal in similar stuff, like Hobby Lobby. As far as the store brand stuff goes, Temu sells the same quality stuff, made in the same factories for a fraction of the cost.

My mom buys a good bit of that type stuff, and there really is not a whole lot of difference in the two sellers, other than the Hobby Lobby 500% markup.

It's basically Amazon for Chinese stuff. They are cutting out the middle man (Amazon)

It’s cheap crap but at least it’s cheap. Amazon will sell the same cheap crap for way more.

I bought a can opener. It's cheaply made but useful.

And you wonder why Hobby Lobby always has discounts on all of their items.

Hobby Lobby’s pricing philosophy, let’s sell this picture frame for 20 dollars that we paid a dollar for from a wholesaler in China.

Then we will advertise all picture frames 75% off. We make off with a profit of 4 dollars before labor and other capital costs used to run the store.

TEMU: we sell the same item for 2 dollars charge you 5 dollars to ship via China Post/USPS. Item may get stuck in customs for a few weeks.

Bought my kid several Star Wars Legos, absolutely cannot tel the difference. Got him this huge gunship that retails at like $150 for $40. Shipping is slow, but everything I have ordered has come in!

Yes, it was cheap garbage and I’ll never order with them again and I’ve heard that from everyone I know that bought from them. Makes me wonder what their ultimate strategy is because they aren’t getting any repeat customers. Makes me feel like it’s a big data mining operation of US by China

Even with the discounts Hobby Lobby is a good bit higher on most stuff. The deepest cut you'll get on anything that isn't home decor type stuff (art supplies) is 40%. For their store brand art stuff, it is the same quality made in the same place by the same people. It just has a different name on it. Temu doesn't charge shipping on orders over like $15.

I watched a few YouTube reviews and the items reviewed were mostly well made and served the purpose intended. The reviewers did get some items that were junk but it is what it is. We went on a little Temu shopping spree but our items haven't arrived yet so I'll be able to give a first hand review next week.

Bought some shoes that looked too good to be true.
They were.
They are trash. I didn’t know you could even make things that poorly.
I now use them when I work in the yard.

If you’ve had the jab and downloaded Temu you are 2 of 3 of the full conversion, so…

my wife has gotten a few things through them - most good, a few duds.

she bought 200 tiny plastic ducks for like 2 bucks. 1 came broke, but we didn't mind. my folks went out of town, so we went to their apartment and hid all 199 of them. when they found 1, we told them we hid 200. they have only found about 140, and it has been about 5 months or so.

my dad has late stage dementia, so for him it was a fun experience - watching him get excited like a child was a good experience and feeling.

That app was found to be used more as Spyware than to sell stuff. Crasiest user agreement.
