It's pretty amazing some of the stuff we did, hey, Roger?!?!

It's important to me to keep those memories or I would romanticize my drinking.

FCC’s with Darren Davis is something everyone should have to experience at least once.

Huuuu buddy...you ain’t lyin. He is a true arse chewing professional. It’s crudely poetic - went there in 2010. Still sober.

I think DD is opening a place in Arkansas as well.

If it weren’t for my wife. I would be drinking every night, smoking weed, drinking on Benzos, snorting roxys/dilaudids/opanas you name it.

Not trying to be a smartass but I gave up control and surrendered. I was the type that would tinker with my addiction to no end trying to find that right combination. God is in control of my life right now brother.

Eta for the most part. I'm a work in progress

Darren was "removed" from his position shortly after I left. Don't know exactly why.

Was some bull shite. Not going to put the story out there but Darren got fricked but he is better off where he is now. Chewing arse for a living wears on you. New approach and older clientele at his new place. Seems very happy.

You have learned a wonderful concept. I remember being at a lawyer's meeting in St. John's Church across from the White House in the mid-80s. One of the more experienced people said that he "had raised the white flag and declared victory". It took me a good while realize that I had to get out of my old ways of thinking and listen to others - a concept that was foreign to me.

I was still arguing whether alcoholism was a disease or a moral failing. The fact is that many people die while trying to figure that out. It's an academic question that we need not solve. All I need to do is avoid alcohol and I will get better.

Once I made the decision to follow the suggestions of others and stop trying to rationalize the predicament in which I found myself, I started treating my problem and started to get better.

We are all a work in progress. Keep fighting the good fight.

I just want to add this. None of the sanity or relief come if I don't work a program. My spiritual fitness is contingent on this. AA meetings are just a piece of my program of recovery. Also guys check out In The Rooms online meetings all day that are not bad!

After I got caught hiding I started moving stuff all the time. I didnt like leaving the house knowing there was anything in there. My truck on the other hand was full of shite.

I went 2 years transferring vodka to water bottles. I would hide them everywhere. Trashcan, wherever, you name it.

Ahh long ago are the days of drinking straight Smirnoff 100 right out the pint bottle in 105 degree weather. Then there would be the bad mornings when you had to get it in, then threw up, then went right back to getting after the bottle.

Thanks Guys this thread was started at the perfect time. I never knew were there so many others dealing with this. Today marks 3 days for me. I turned down a drinking lunch and it felt really good. For me it started with the LT's in 2005. Then quit that when I entered Graduate school in 2010-2012. In 2018, my company went to shite and I started drinking every evening. Then I started at 3pm then noon...I Caught my self picking up a 6 pack on the way to work and it has gone down hill ever since. I feel like this is the first time I have had a clear head in the last 3-5 years. I guess when you don't have a a 12 pack in you by 2 pm you do have a clear head.

I plan on keeping this up and I already feel a lot better. Good luck to all who are dealing with this Demon.

And yes, this is my first post.

I've been in three facilities and did not once run into anyone with a Marijuana addiction.

Outpatient treatment is a very common part of sentencing for misdemeanor possession under 20 grams in Florida. Gotta artificially inflate figures to pretend it is a problem. Never been diagnosed as addicted, nor failed a urinalysis.

I have. 8 failed attempts.
9th time must’ve done something, coming up on a year sober from IV cocaine, heroin and subutex while also doing Xanax daily. Lucky to be alive and enjoying every minute of sobriety. Happiest I’ve ever been.
If anybody needs help I’d be more than happy to get you into a great facility. Please reach out
