Go quartz hunting. Way more return on your money. You’ll find cool pieces and that’s the rush for a rock hound

South Arkansas is sitting on two miles deep of lithium resources.

The real diamond that nobody ever talks about is the tail water coming off Greers Ferry just a few miles down the road. Trout are stacked in there just below the dam.

my wife and I went for a day trip to crater of diamonds last year. It was pretty tough work but not bad. You can’t leave with the dirt but you can rinse and sift to take a 5 gallon bucket of cleaned gravel home. This February we went to Mount Ida Arkansas and we hiked up crystal vista trail to find quartz. It’s a one mile trail, straight up, to an abandoned crystal mine. That was nasty but we ended up with a ton of crystals with almost no real digging.

I went back in ‘17. If you’re going for the diamonds you’ll be disappointed but if you’re going for the experience it’ll be worth it. We tent camped for 4 days and had a blast.

Back in the early 80s, me and some cousins all went w our dads. Something different to do. At that time, you rented the little army surplus shovels for 5 bucks. They refunded the 5 when you were done.

Welp, we all got in big trouble because we were spending more time rounding up shovels and running them back to the desk than digging. A fun day that ended w all of of being threatened with arse whippins

I’ve panned for sapphires outside of Helena MT. That was enjoyable. Not sure if I trust the AR diamond field. Seems like I saw something that lead me to believe they occasionally plant finds to keep it going.

Yes. Went in Feb on the way to hiking and camping. Gigantic field with plowed over dirt/mud. Millions of rocks in the dirt too. The diamonds look like rocks. If it’s your thing, go for it. I can say I’ve done it. Didn’t find a thing.
