I've been looking into maybe trying different Nootropics like L-tyrosine, Phosphatidylserine, Optimind, Qualia, Focus Factor, or something else. I was diagnosed with ADD when I was in high school but want to get off of Vyvanse. It can be very difficult to focus when I don't take it tho. Does anyone have experience with any of these Nootropics and did they have any positive or negative effects for you?

Alpha brain. Magic Mind. Both nootropics that have helped me tremendously.

I second Alpha Brain. Was hard on my stomach at first but all good now. It's part of my daily supplement routine.

I've been taking Alpha Brain for a while but I can't tell it doing anything at all for me. For those that are recommending it, what exactly do you feel it doing for you?

I've tried a few due to covid brain fog (or getting older brain fog). It might be placebo effect, but I actually think Alpha Brain helps a bit. Some others did nothing.

PS - It's a subtle thing imo. You won't feel yourself zeroed in and ultra focused, no physical feelings either. At the end of the day, look back and you see you actually were quite productive. That's best way I can describe it.

I guess that's my hangup, if there is literally zero noticeable feeling how do I know if I was productive becuase of my coffee or whatever or if ti was the AB? I think after this bottle I won't buy any more.

It's not a nootropic, but I love the shite out of some green kratom. You absolutely DO feel that physically. When it starts working buddy you know it.

Read that stuff is very addictive. Do you feel any withdrawal symptoms when you don't take it?

I’ve been reading up on the benefits of iodine supplements for cognitive function.

I'm sure it can be, probably depends on how disciplined you are with it. Just like some people don't get addicted to alcohol or drugs while others can't go without.

Withdrawal- definitely not. It's not like a "drug" where you get the shakes or something if you don't have it. I notice myself wanting to take it on days that I don't, but I intentionally take little breaks to help with tolerance. You definitely will notice a tolerance buildup if you take it all the time.

Also there is no "comedown" like if you were taking blow or something. Once the effects wear off you're just...back to normal.

L-Tyrosine helped me and my wife, but we both have underfunctioning thyroids, which is where tyrosine is produced/used in the body.

If you have had bloodwork done to establish vitamin/hormone levels, I would start there, and periodically get re-assessed. If you're concerned about thyroid function, you would need to ask specifically for that.

Otherwise, i know certain mushroom extractives are good nootropics, plus the age-old caffeine/gingko/b12 stuff. Try meditation and focusing techniques as well. I have adhd and while it is extremely difficult some days, intra-personal communication has helped me to improve somewhat.
