I would barely go as far as to qualify the Air Force as military, but you’re about to sign a 4+ year contract of your life away and you’re fricking worried about your bangs?

Remember to stand up once in a while. Four years in the Chair Force might cause a blood clot

I’ve been at “The Lik” for a few months, this coming from an Army guy the grooming standards of the Air Force is pretty relaxed.
Seems like you can have a hair style, not just a hair cut.

Since you only have 100 posts in 10 years you probably do not spend all day on this forum and missed the joke.

Anytime someone starts a thread asking "Anybody ever _________" there will be at least 3 replies on the first page mocking them, saying "no, nobody has ever __________".

The only reason I am spelling this out for you is because you have been in the service for 20 years and have earned a little respect. If you were an average joe I'd have down voted you and said something sarcastic. Enjoy your retirement/second career!

It's the Air Force. You can get away with just about anything. You'll be fine.

Hair style will have a tapered appearance on both sides and back, both with and without headgear. A tapered appearance is one that when viewed from any angle outlines the individual’s hair so that it conforms to the shape of the head, curving inward to the natural termination point. Block cut permitted with tapered appearance. Hair will not be worn in an extreme or fad style or in such a way that exceeds length or bulk standards or violates safety requirements. Will not touch the ears and only closely cut or shaved hair on the back of the neck may touch the collar. Will not exceed 1 1/4 inches in bulk, regardless of length and not exceed 1/4 inch at the natural termination point. Will not contain or have any visible foreign items attached to it. Sideburns will be neatly trimmed and tapered in the same manner as the haircut. Will be straight and of even width (not flared) and end in a clean-shaven horizontal line. They will not extend below the lowest part of the exterior ear opening. (This does not apply to individuals with shaving waivers.) Mustaches will not extend downward beyond the lipline of the upper lip or extend sideways beyond a vertical line drawn upward from the corner of the mouth. (This does not apply to individuals with shaving waivers.)

I was in the Air Force from 1993 - 1999.

I am not sure what you mean by bangs over forehead, that sounds kind of dopey, in or out of the military.

My first assignment was MAC/AMC at McGuire AFB. We worked 24/7/365, 12 hours shifts on the flight line, lunches brought to the aircraft. Needless to say haircut regulations were not a high priority. I had a pretty long hair cut but kept it parted or slicked back within the allowable regulations.

My next assignment was PACAF. We had a specialized mission, with less aircraft. I showed up to my duty station and was told my haircut was out of regulation. Was sent to the barber before inprocessing. Did not argue but wore a flat top with fenders the next 3 years.

If you can’t read AFI’s you probably shouldn’t be an officer or NCO

Stereotypes... they exist for a reason.

AF is so fricking gay. After you grow out your bangs are you going to participate in the yearly AF vs USCG dick sucking competition?

I've been doing a lot of research into the early air force vs navy flag officer"wars" of the late 40s. Crazy how close we almost came to folding the Navy and sending the Marines over to the army.
