I have been to both schools. Got one degree from LSU, started another one, and am now at UNO.
Class size for freshman classes is 20-75 people depending on the class. They obviously get smaller the higher up you go. I am a second semester sophomore, and have an average of 20 people in my engineering classes.
There are a bunch of hot girls, more per capita than LSU to be honest. Anyone that says otherwise hasn't been to both schools.
Social scene is really Lakeview and the Garden district, which are both a bunch of fun. Not much going on at campus.
I enjoy engineering at UNO much more than LSU. The smaller class sizes are a lot better for me. Parking is easy. Material is the same
I did a pretty extensive write-up on UNO vs LSU last year, so search for it

small class sizes, engineering classes are a joke (difficulty wise) when compared to LSU, it's a commuter school so not nearly as much going on, kinda in a weird (and not really in a good way) neighborhood, I can't speak for the girls.
The only girl I know at UNO is a girl I went to high school with who plays volleyball and she is fiya

well best of luck. Theres an old saying, "find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Hope the degree and career work like that for you.

I've heard the opposite from a few engineering students.

You've heard the classes are more competitive and harder at UNO? I know good and bad engineers from UNO, so really think that it's up the person. Smart folk make good engineers...

I think it is better to go to a small school for engineering then a huge one.

I think it's better to have the smartest kids possible in your engineering classes. Whether it be large or small, competition is what drives more challenging tests.

Hey, I'm just going off what I've heard. I've driven through the neighborhood inland from the university and it is a strange hodgepodge of ghetto flooded out houses, potholes the size of volkswagons, nice new rebuilt condos, random middle class homes, ghetto housing projects, and Lakeview on one side and Gentilly on the other. Just random.

Gentilly surrounds UNO on all sides except the north, which is Lake Pontchartrain.

Have you considered Tulane?

How was the social scene? Classes and Class size? Any OT 10s
no real social scene, it's mostly a commuter campus. though we did hang out at the old sandbar in the cafeteria and get drunk before latin class. they've built a few on-campus apartments since i graduated in 2000, so i'm sure there's more of a "real campus" feel.
i found the quality of instruction to be about the same at UNO and LSU. no glaring differences. classes were about the same, if not smaller. and lots of older students with full-time jobs and families so on avg. the student body was a bit more disciplined and focused.
the girls at UNO were more like "alternative" type girls, unless they were commuting from metairie or the northshore. the girls at lsu were more "girly" girls, if that makes any sense.

EE is practically identical. I occasionally use the LSU EE bible for extra notes and it's the same material. And UNO's microprocessors class is much more demanding than LSU's. UNO also requires some labs that LSU doesn't.

Damn. Well atleast there will be less to choose from

I thought there was a bar on campus where all the Germans go

There are some dumb as a doorknob kids in the LSU engineering program that make straight A's. I'd take experience and C's over no experience and straight A's any day of the week
Smart folk make good engineers...

Stay in a dorm. Everyone that stays in dorms at UNO knows one another.

whats immediately pressing you into the choice/preventing you from taking a step back and reevaluating?
that you have done engineering, business and film its really kind of all over the place. it might be good for your wallet, transcript, and happiness to try your hand in film before you dive into it with a transfer and new major.

I have a small window to get into the film industry. Its really competitive. I also lost tops, so my wallet and transcript are pretty much dead.
