I lived in Washington and went to OC. Worked at Pizza Shack while in high school (my uncle owns the place.)

Moved to BR for college and moved back to Washington after graduation. Worked in Opelousas for a little while then got the hell out of there. Working in VP now still live in Washington.

Really it's amazing. People in VP move out to go to college then come back and work in the area. While people from Opelousas move out and move out for good.

I'm a statistic that proves otherwise...Although I'm here in Opelousas for different reasons than most are. I'm not here to pad my wallet and grow my american dream...I'm here to serve, love, and build community.

Good to know there's some good citizens left. Besides the older citizens, seems like everyone in that city has lost hope. I think the city could turn around if it attracted a large employer (that payed well)and cleaned up the downtown.

My dad has a classic 1943 car that broke down on Railroad Avenue around Lou Ana a couple of weeks at 10pm. The wrecker services will tell you an absurd amount to go in that area. One service finally went to get his car. The guy said man we don't like going in that area at all. Can't say I blame him.

1983. Her Dad taught there for years, and her mom worked across the street at OGH.

Figgered out who it is yet?

Unfortunately, I am. Graduated OHS class of 2007. I'm 25 and got out when I was 20, after I graduated from TH Harris.

My grandmother was a long time receptionist for Public Works, my grandfather was a long time police officer until he retired and started working at the City Marshal's office. Many, many people know them since they both worked public service jobs, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone could point out who my family is just based on that description.

Can only be Dr. MW or Dr. KL. Dr. W was my eye doctor for many years.

When I was a really young kid in the 60s, the closest eye doctor around was Dr. Casanova in Crowley. Yes, that Dr. Casanova, the father of Tommy Casanova. IIRC, he was an EENT.

When Dr. W got into practice, it was a much shorter drive.
