anybody ever done this? i have a car in upper pennsylvania that i need moved to arkansas.... did some inquiry with auto shippers/car carriers and these folks started bombarding my phone and email like no other. super aggressive, all trashing each other while trying to secure my business. ordered shipping through one of them, and since then can't get any answers. was supposed to be picked up yesterday, and there has been no driver assignment or anything. its like pulling teeth to get them on the phone, and even then its just them talking in circles. I've heard they are all like this.. the brokers i mean... beyond frustrating

yes, they are all like that.
what you need to do is get access to the transporting companies, not the brokers

once you pay a broker you are SOL as far as being able to communicate if anything happens, gets delayed, etc.

Honest question. Why don't you just fly to PA (assuming you're not already there) and drive it yourself?

I'd drive a car from Seattle to Miami before I'd go through the hassle of having it shipped.

ETA: never mind. question answered

My brother bought a 2 year old Ferrari from a guy in Cali - sight unseen other than photos.

He kept calling the trucking company who loaded it in an enclosed trailer and the trucking company got so pissed at him for calling so much. Well the driver decided to f with my brother and called him back a few hours later and said that his driver had stopped overnight and had too much to drink, pulled out the Ferrari and accidentally drove it off the ramp

i haven't paid, but i did give them my card number but withheld the CCV number. supposedly i would be charged 100 bucks ONLY after driver assignment, and then the rest upon delivery. haven't been charged anything as of now, but not sure what would happen if i continued to search other means

If you have a truck, just rent a trailer from Uhaul and move it yourself.

Uship

I recently used them. Great experience.

With insurance, I paid just over $550 to ship from Baton Rouge to Conroe, TX.

also considered this, but like all of us, time is money and a 34 hour round trip i was attempting to avoid while hiring someone else to do the job. trust me, its not out of the question, but I'm trying to avoid if at all possible

We shipped the Camry about 1400 miles through Mayflower. Cost $900+. We had defined time frame of pick up.

The problem is you will not know when the thing drops off because they constantly load and pick up along the way. It ended up taking about 4 days for it to arrive. Loaded on a Friday and delivered on a Wed if I remember correct.

I know a few people who did the auto train from DC to Orlando but this probably won't help you.

Tried to do this when we were having to move from Virginia to Cali. Had a brand new truck, and didn't want to put 3k miles on it. Had requested information through those sites and my phone was blowing up for a few months prior/after.

Decided to just drive it myself as after those interactions it was easy to tell relying on them would be a nightmare.
