As I’ve gotten older I have no patience for it at all. Eating is fine but no way to sitting in there any longer than necessary, I tend to ask for the check earlier in the process just so we can finish eating and haul arse. Drives the Mrs. insane but frick it

I have never known something like this to be a thing.

What's the point of going out to eat if you laothe spending one on one time with your wife?

I generally enjoy restaurants and the company.

I am usually ready to head out before the wife so I just got used to slowing my roll.

Depends on the restaurant's atmosphere for me.

I don't like the noise.

If they have live music and good drinks, I can literally sit there for hours.

I love sitting in restaurants. I love it when they hand me a number or letter that I place on my table so the staff can find me when the meal is ready.

I don't think there is any doubt this quote is from an older guy. If so, it amazes me that as men age they develop a hatred for people.
The point of going to a restaurant is ENJOYING the company you are sitting with. If you can't do that you probably should just stay home.

If I'm with wife and friends, love hanging out in a restaurant atmosphere. If I'm by myself for a lunch during the week, I'm trying to bolt basically as soon as I sit down.

You sound like a miserable frick.

I only go to a restaurant where I have the wait staff on my immediate beck & call.

Depends on my company. If I'm just there to eat I want to be in and out quickly.

I'm not a fan of restaurants. I'd rather cook a good meal at home.
I also am not hip on the idea of being "served". For several reasons, one being lack of control, and a couple other things.

I usually get up and shake hands with folks at nearby tables. It helps with the atmosphere.

Nothing like asking for a drink refill and the check as your food arrives, just send the card with them. The efficiency is very satisfying to me.
