What hell does PMI have to do with property taxes?

What does HO insurance have to with property taxes?

Go take a fricking seat.

I clearly said HOME OWNERSHIP

The dude is moving to Texas because the TAXES here don't pay for better schools. But since you live in an apt, you've never taken a home loan, which REQUIRES PMI, if you cant come up with the appropriate down payment. It also requires insurance to be paid from escrow. And property taxes UPFRONT, which is also paid from escrow

So when said homeowner moves to Dallas or Houston, and pays more for his house, I assume he wont have the full down payment, requiring PMI. I know the insurance will be more, as will the property taxes.

So once again, hes going to get sticker shock on that TX house, in that better school district, that he doesn't currently have in La

My parents and my younger brother live in Cedar Park, they love it. I grew up in Houston south west side and would stay summer or two in Dallas at my grandmother's house. I really prefer Houston over Dallas.

Wait until you get that first property tax bill, and homeowners ins bill in the state of Texas. Youre gonna shite your pants

Not a big difference as many think. Once you factor in Louisiana state tax it's fairly equal to Texas. Plus you factor in Not having to pay Hurricane and/or flood insurance.....

The public schools in Houston are only good in memorial, bellaire, and The Woodlands. Dallas is good in Highland Park. San Antonio good in Alamo Heights. All of those areas are crazy expensive. Also private school in Texas will hit you about 25K a year per kid

We might be moving, haven't decided yet. I can work from anywhere and my wife finishes school in May, so we'll weigh the perks of living near family versus quality of life when she's looking for jobs.

I live in North Dallas so pretty much so I'm 15 minutes away from Lewisville Lake, Grapevine Lake, and about 25-30 from Rowlett (Lake Hubbard.)

So I can fish anytime I want pretty much.

My co worker goes hunting every weekend right now off of a lease. He lives in Lewisville.

So yeah I'm pretty much surrounded by everything except casinos.
