Some electric companies will give you money if you install an energy efficient unit.

Both my condenser coils in two seperate units in attic went out on an 8 year old house.
You may want to try to get the condenser changed for the time being if possible. About 1800-2000 if they still service the Freon.

No A/C man is going to tell him to change the A-coil in a 17 year old unit

Tires were a good deal. Brakes, I have no idea. Said they had to turn rotors. She doesn’t live near by and two shops said the same. Safe rather than sorry.

Colorado baw, life is high up here. Yea yea that’s on me. I’ve tried twice to move back to Alabama but wife can’t leave her parents yet. I understand that. So I’ve gotta get by with what’s given to me.

We had a trip that weekend with the kids, that is the only reason I just bit the bullet and said frick it. I can’t watch my little 1.5 year old girl get deep red cheeks cause she’s hot riding in the car.

I paid what I did for the kids.

And for the baw saying I’m a shite mechanic, yes I am but I sacrificed 6 hours of life trying to save some money anyways. Stayed up till 1 am getting that compressor in then the shite doesn’t work. I did what I could

Yeah, I had to eat $22K in home repairs all at once 3 years ago. AC crapped out, siding failed on the side of the house and I had some water damage, and I needed a new fence. Makes me just want to rent an apartment sometimes.

I found that it never stops and no matter how you budget or how you save, something will occur that has never occurred before and be something that there was no way to account for that and then you are right back to not having extra money set aside cause you just used it.)

Save a bunch of money and something unexpected comes and wipes it out. Story of my adult life

They always say something with the rotors as an excuse to sell you on something. Rotors aren't that expensive. No doubt they hit you with absurd labor hours for it and that's why it was so high

Just dodged a bullet with my car. Oil change, brake pads and rotors installed, oil change, AC gasket replaced with recharge, and 2 new tires but got outtta there for only $1400. Wife (no pics) asked if I want to trade it in so I’m probably gonna start looking around to see if I can get something I want while my trade in value is still relatively high. My car is somewhat expensive to maintain so I figure try to max out on the trade while I can before I’m stuck with a money pit.

Man, I've been there. Try to look at it as experience. If the shite happens again (it will) you'll be better prepared.

My cousins set to 70 and the house will not go below 74 until after dark, so maybe it isn't totally gone?

My 3 units will all need replacing soon. I am holding out as long as I can, though. I just spent $18K on countertops and still have vanity tops I need to order. I will also be replacing my windows soon. None of the quotes for my windows have come in below $36K. I am with you about wanting to just rent sometimes.

Call one until you find one that will. It was just a suggestion to save money.
15 plus k for a whole unit or 2k for a coil.
I’d be on the phone looking.
Hell a really good one can weld up a hole. Still a short term fix and not cheap per se, but possible. POSSIBLE not probable

If you are like other farmers I know, you have to hope you sell enough to pay back the loan back at the EOY so you can do it all again next year.

I know. No indications there were issues but dealer and independent shop said the same thing. Car was 12 years old and she commutes into the city daily. Piece of mind.

I don't think any of them want the liability of replacing an A-coil on such an old unit. Plus, you can spend that much and still need to replace the whole thing in a year. A huge risk on such an old unit.
