It's because the Democrats will put up a bigger clown that they will falsely make out to be a rockstar and a moderate.

My point is how are you going call Abbott and his voters names when you brainless straight Blue ticket voters in Texas almost voted in BETO and did vote in that moron Lina Hidalgo.

Some of the voters actually thought they were supporting the Hispanic by voting for Beto against Cruz.

Abbott goes on local news channels around the state every evening to give updates. I'm guessing OP's local station will get a live interview.

No major announcement. Do better to keep up and not spread false rumors.

I must really have it turned up a notch with this from you. You use this word in about 70% of your replies.

quote:

He deferred to local government to shut down and mandate masks (bad stuff in his constituents' eyes) but quickly took back power when opening back up (good stuff in those same eyes). Now cases are exploding so he tries to pander to the liberals by rolling back reopening, no pun intended, and now mandating masks essentially statewide.

And I agree, he’s been wishy washy AF. He could’ve done better. Link to where I’ve said otherwise. But what governor has handled this well?

quote:

Now liberals think he's terrible for not doing enough and most conservatives, except you apparently, think he sucks for giving in and rolling back, again no pun intended

I don’t think the man is a Saint. Nor have I said he is. But Phillip and Sao are in here shitting on him without making logical arguments like the one you’ve made. Do you not see my point? At least you give reason and opinion. They drop gif’s and tell me I’m melting without stating a logical argument to why Abbott is shitty.

Let me try it.

Sao’s Mom is a whore. I have no reason to say this. Have never met her. Can’t and won’t tell you why she is a whore. But she’s a whore. I bet she’s on her knees right now blowing PhillipM with a finger in his arse. Don’t question my logic, I’ll follow up with some sweet GIFs because i have nothing of value to add to this conversation

I wasn’t spreading false news. And I think my thread title shows it. I just genuinely trying to find out and if he speaks every evening then I guess I’m still wait and see

Feel free to watch Abbott give updates live:

KTRK TV live at 5pm
KTVT live at 5:10
KCENTV live at 5:20

I'm sure he will be doing additional updates around the state for the 6 o'clock news.

Update: shutting down, for just 2 weeks as requested, will just result in another surge immediately upon reopening. As other states have experienced. Face coverings are the only effective remedy. We must comply with that until a vaccine is developed. Must keep bars closed and restaurants at partial capacity. Open schools, but have a strategy to combat transmission. But hell let ISD's decide what they want to do for school reopening.

Well, I just watched him say it, so...

He also called out Quest for being the main culprit on slow test results, which is funny if you've ever had to deal with them on a professional level.

Your typing style, of using, so many commas, makes it seem, like Texas is shutting down again, as requested

I’m asking sincerely. 2 weeks? Starting when? Applies to all non essential businesses?

No shut down. He didn't fold. Like pride said, my comma use fricked up the sentence.

Eta: wait a damn minute. The comma use was fine. A period after "shutting down" would have implied a shutdown. Ah, frick it. Whatever

Got it, I’m reading it correctly now. Thanks for clarifying.
