Though I am a Christian that's not the reason I don't drink.

In my case I've had family members on both sides die of cirrhosis from alcoholism and a third lost his marriage over it (though when he sobered up they remarried). Thus I have a higher than normal risk.

Exactly the reason why I don't drink. I know myself. If I start I will prolly over do it, have tendency to do that.......so why start?

If I were you, I wouldn’t start now either.

That’s part of the rite of passage in college was drinking/learning my tolerances.

I can’t tell you the last time I got sick drinking. It’s because I learned my limits a long time ago. Those damn Jaeger bombs at Tigerland. Jesus.

I've never drank alcohol.

I don't call myself a teetotaler, though, because it's hard to spell.

I prefer not to drink mostly because I don't like the taste and because my body does not agree with alcohol for some reason. The longer I'm away from it, the harder it is for me to accept the taste.

Everyone on both sides of the family drink heavily. I went down the same path. Quit drinking 10 years ago when my son was born.

I don't drink anymore simply because I don't want to lose everything I own again. I've burned down my life and pissed on the ashes twice because of alcohol.

I did drink about 6 cups of coffee at the Palmetto reunion today though. :gmt: :gmt: :gmt:

I've been an alcoholic in my life but luckily able to rein it in on my own. I've watched many close to me crash and burn because of it.

I’m the first male in over 5 decades to not have a problem with Alcohol. I guess the fear of becoming a raging alcoholic who beats my family kept me straight. I can count on one hand all the alcoholic drinks I have had and that was early college days.

My faith also played a role in it.

Then you're probably not an alcoholic. You're a heavy drinker. I couldn't stop no matter how much I wanted to. If I was granted 3 wishes, one of them would probably be to be able to drink normally. If I could drink like a normal man, I'd do it all day, everyday.

That's why I don't drink anymore.

Wish I could be a teetotaler sometimes. Harder to stay lean as I’ve gotten older.

Hydroxycut Lean, moderate exercise, high protein diet and cutting alcohol out of your life will work miracles if you stick with it.

At my worst I probably had 15+ drinks per day. Probably for about a decade. I thought having a child would stop it but it didn't. Only having a 4-5 year old kid that realized dad was a drunk did it for me.
