I have my alarm in my bathroom so I actually have to get up and walk to it to turn it off.

My mind wakes up at 6:00 every day no matter what. No alarm needed.

Ever seen one of those alarms that makes you do something?
For instance, there's one that has like 5 puzzle blocks that pop out and you have to collect them and put them back in to turn off the alarm.

Used to be, but these days I can usually wake up when I need to without it for some reason.

I use the sleep cycle app. I sometimes end up knocking it off my bed and can't hear the alarm some mornings

No, but I find having mine in my bathroom really helps. I get in there and always have to piss in the morning and the toilet is right there. Then I've conditioned myself to say frick it, I'm here, I may as well brush my teeth. And just like that I'm off to the races.

I hit snooze every 5 minutes for about 20 minutes total every morning. I feel it eases me into getting out of bed. Can't break the habit.

What is your ringer for your alarm?
My is "Old Phone" because it's the loudest....
I should try it on a Saturday and see if I can hear it from my bathroom... I like that idea.

It's just a regular alarm clock sound I guess. When I have to use my phone I pick the most annoying one I can find.

eta: so let's say I have to be up at 7:40a... What time do I set the alarm on that app?
I have the sleep cycle app. It uses your breathing patterns to determing your sleep stage. If you want to be up at 7:40AM you set the 30 minute window to wake you up no later than 7:40. It will wake you up between 7:10 and 7:40 if you are in a light sleep pattern and @ 7:40 even if you are in a deep sleep pattern. It also gives you stats and after 5 nights makes graphs so you can better time you sleep. I get my best results if I get around 6.5 hours of sleep and it takes me ~15mins to fall asleep. So I try to get in bed 7 hours before I have to get up and usually wake up 10-15 minutes before the endtime which is nice because it has a snooze feature that lets you drift but never fall back asleep.

I'm going to try this. It seems like a possible life changer if it really works. I'm the worst at getting up to an alarm.

I wake up automatically at the 5 hr mark give or take 10 minutes no matter what. I can still function perfectly with 2 though. Weird, but true. I just don't need that much sleep

I wake up on my own at 5:20 a.m. every day. No alarm needed...............

Best to just rip the bandaid off.

I believe it detects movement with accelerometers in the phone

Used to be like that.
45 min of shut eye + a tall cup of coffee and I was good to go.
Wait till you've been doing that a decade.

Does that 9 extra minutes help you wake up more rested or something?!
No but it helps me wake up gradually

Falling asleep after the snooze button is the best sleep ever. It's almost like you're doing something risqué and saying frick the system.
