OK but does a 15 mile run that would take me X TIME = that same X TIME on a bike??? That's what I'm not sure of.

And we have a pool at home but the heater is broken ... we may get on that asap now.

I have but hate compression sleeves .. I'll wear them AFTER a long run but they're tight (yeah I know that's the point) and I HATE tight things and they're hot!

Alahunter, the sad part is that I had 15 miles 2 weeks ago and it was FINE. EASY and I felt awesome even the next day. Not sore or anything. My calves are always a little funky but I stretch them before and after (not much in between sadly) and it started the next week during a recovery week. Issue was likely THERE but symptoms weren't making themselves known.

I'm just hoping for the best. I was suppose to run the St. Jude's 10K in Memphis with my 15 yo dtr and so with a bike/elliptical I should be able to maintain fitness for that. I guess. IDK if I should be run running 8 weeks out though.

Will see what doc says with results tomorrow. He looked more concerned than not.

Hope it's nothing serious.

Maybe it will be something that simple rest will take care of and nothing longstanding.

I'll be going again, regardless.. as soon as I can hire someone to do the grunt work. Being in a cast 6 weeks with no employees hurt.

I misread this as "any of you ever have stress fracture of the labia?"....my mind just went wild for a minute.

What is your heart rate on your runs. Whatever that is, keep your heart rate in that zone for the same time you'd expect to be running. If your zone 2 heart rate is 140-150 bpm and your long run is 2 hours. Get on the bike in that heart rate zone for that time (I know it's tough, I gave up on a 1:45 recovery ride tonight after 1:10 because it got mind numbing and wasn't challenging). At least you'll keep your aerobic base. Sucks that you can't keep your running legs on schedule, but you can deal with that.

I've never done an ironman, but read sites where tons of people discuss training. You'd be surprised how many never run more than 15 miles as a long run and just push through the marathon on race day due to their huge aerobic base.

Also, I've heard aqua jogging is a good leg workout without the impact for those types of injuries

My horse did as a 2 year old when he got started in training. Needed 60 days off but I have him 90.

I'd say if 60 days is good for a horse, you should be all healed up.

Maniac979 thanks for the awesome advice. Really appreciate it. I don't have a freaking clue and is why I'm asking.

Are you using the three day training plan you were using for your first marathon?

I don't mentally know how I could do only 15 (where I am now) and then run 26.2.

Clear xray ... will treat as a stress reaction; PT to look at it and evaluate from their end before letting me on the Alter G. No road running for a month but I expected that.

Will go down to half for Mississippi Gulf Coast if I have to. Screw the full lol.
