Any recommendations on a good tobacco pipe

Do some online research and find one that you think you'll like. A few factors to consider, in your preferenced order:

1. Type of wood
2. Shape (curved or straight)
3. Size of bowl

Starting out, I would recommend a bent/curved pipe, because they're easier to hold. Make sure you pick a pipe that has plenty of wood, and no knots in the wood - those issues cause uneven heating, and can make the bowl hot to the touch and unpleasant to hold.

I actually have a corn cob pipe that I enjoy smoking just for fun, in social settings. For my higher quality pipe I use for better quality tobacco, I use a briar wood pipe made by Peterson.

Briar wood is going to be the best kind of wood for you to start out with, and is the most popular. It holds a burn better, and is resistant to getting hot.

You can also find a standard corn cob pipe for just a few dollars on Amazon.

And I would also invest in a leather pipe pouch/kit. It folds and will hold your pipe, cleaning pipettes, tamper, and tobacco of your choice. Makes it very easy to keep up with it all, and looks pretty cool too.

Look into a Meerschaum (Sp?).....

The more you smoke 'em, the better they get, look, etc....

I would only go there if you were desperate. Their prices are insane in there compared to almost any site online selling identical products. Do not recommend.
