Is “Northern California” where you are more like Grass Valley, CA (striking distance to SF, Reno) or more like Redding, CA (surrounded by the Bethel cult)?

Kaiser, Dignity, Sutter none of them pay that low. Every hospital here is union.

Idk if I believe indeed (frequently wrong from my experience), but 200k seems like a stretch.

No I am in Sac. I consider it more central valley, but it qualifies as "northern california" for regional pay. Meaning peeps in grass valley get paid the same as the city.

So hospitals are posting job ads with inaccurate salary info? That’s doesn’t make much sense

I can see Hoag or Cedars Sinai but Kaiser and Sutter are large enterprises and are notorious for low balling most things like contracts.

I don't know what they make so I won't argue but those numbers sound high.

a buddy of mine got a nuclear med tech degree in about the time it takes to get a rad tech and he started out around $90k. This was early-mid 2000s, so it may be different now.

Cedars is Southern California and I never worked there so I really don't know. Southern California does pay less though...Kaiser rad techs are SEIU, Sutter is a mix of SEIU and CHEU, Dignity is UNAC I believe. You may be able to find their pay grades online?

UCD pays shite. All of our Rad Techs came from there years ago. BUT they do get to put money in a 457...god I miss that 457.

Rad techs around LA are looking at $20-30. Moral of the story, move away if you're from here.

Are you interested in becoming an RT? If so I will gladly send you the pay rate page from the SEIU contract when I get there tomorrow...all I have here is the CNA one.

I don't think she is for that area; However, that pay is definitely not the norm nationally.

The cost of living in most areas in Cali are outrageous. The closer you get to Silicon Valley you need to prepare thy ani for cost of living hell. She lives in Sacramento and the areas like Roseville, Rocklin, etc... are semi affordable but have skyrocketed in the last 15 years exponentially.

That's what I figured, I imagine their salary is largely offset by the cost of living.

Are you out here as well? You are quite familiar with the area. Although I don't think Sutter runs this place much anymore. Mercy Gen has hearts on lock, Kaiser South Sac and UCD control trauma, Mercy San Juan and KP Sac are the stroke centers...Sutter kinda fell behind.
