Any parents here cut their children's hair?

Just curious of the logic behind this as it seems fairly common. If you are not trained to cut hair why would you attempt to cut your child's hair when it only costs maybe ten bucks to have it done professionally.

Only the ones who want their kids to get teased relentlessly.

High and tights are easy to do and that's an extra ten dollars I can spend on Barbie's and shite.

unless its a buzz i suggest not trying to cut your kids hair (unless you are trained of course). I just take my son in with me when I go get mine.

Boys hair isn't that difficult.

Know how I know you don't have kids?
Actually there are several reasons...but this is one of them.

kids don't need a professional haircut

You are correct. I do not have kids. How much does a child's hair cut cost?

still looks like i could have been the one whacking him with scissors and half the time i have to get home and fix shite.

I've been cutting my 12 yr old sons hair since he was 3. He refuses to let anyone else touch it, I've gotten pretty good at it.

Did you start because he was to hyper/unruly to have is hair cut by a barber?

We do. Super easy for boys that you want to like like...boys. Cut both sons' hair at a taper, 4 or 5 on top, 3 on sides and bottom, blend.
It's not so much the cost savings, it's the time savings and convenience. We need to cut their hair every 3 weeks or so, and it's a pain in the arse to go somewhere.

Hell, my wife also cuts MY hair after my two boys.
I'm just a dude with short hair, I don't need a fo-hawk or special metrosexual 'do.
5 on top, blend down to a 3.

This is understandable.

I've been shaving my own head since around 2002... and I shave my kid's head. At $13+ a pop think of all that extra savings.
Besides... who gives a shite what a little boy's hair looks like? They run around getting sweaty and dirty all day anyway.

My mom grew up cutting mine and my two brothers hair. She watched a video and got pretty good at it. Saved a bunch of money over the past 20 years.
