I'm thinking about cutting the cord and using Sling during football season. I was just wondering what the quality is like and what your opinions were of the service?

i have it with Dish network, but have never used.
Could you , be in a plane, and watch dish network with your tablet, thats how it works, right????

Does Sling work on a Roku or Xbox, etc or do you have to use a computer?

Works through Roku etc. My understanding of Sling TV is that you get approximately 25 channels that actually include pretty much all of the channels that I watch (ESPN, Disney, AMC, TNT, History etc. included). When you pair that with a simple cheap antenna (which should supply all of your local channels) it should make cord cutting pretty easy, especially if you want to pair that with HBO (they have a stand alone service for Sling) or Netflix etc. You can do a free trial through your Roku for a week or so I believe. When Cox figures out that they have been providing me free cable for over a year and a half after I told them to turn it off, Sling TV is probably the route that I will take.

EspnU, SEC Network, BeIN, NBC Universal can be added for a package price of $5/month. ESPN and ESPN2 come with the $20/month fee. And it can be used on smartphones, tablets, and streaming devices.

I have Sling and I love it. I even got a Roku when I subscribed because they sell them for $50. Obviously you'll want to make sure you have decent internet. But Netflix is a good gauge for that. If your internet is good enough for Netflix, it is good enough for SlingTV. My wife is in favor of it, too, because she is not a fan of how much cable TV costs. Win win.
I thought I'd miss some of the channels from regular cable, but I don't. Saving that $50-60 per month feels really good.

This plus no recording was our issue. We spend $125/mo on cable/internet. Would end up saving about $10 if we got it for two TV's and still wouldn't have recording ability.
