This is really weird. Sounds like a good way to have sheltered kids who grow up to become turds who can’t handle the real world.

Yea, students that attend private schools could never handle the real world huh. Look up those in powerful positions in gov or private sector. Majority private school production.

had to sign up for the “don’t molest kids” class that the diocese makes us do now
At least they're trying to be proactive after what happened in the past - all of the groomers and pedos have flooded the public schools and nobody has done a damned thing about it. Seems like every week there's a new teacher getting busted, three in the immediate vicinity of Slidell just this year.

No because I live in Texas where we have actual public schools we can send our children to.

A lot of people who send their kids to private school live in New Orleans, Baton Rouge etc, not in the suburbs. Would you send your kid to an inner city Houston public school?

I get that Texas has better schools, but most of the time we are comparing apples and oranges in these threads (suburbs vs city). A lot of those people also have a 30 mile commute to work.

I’m going to go sit through an hour class

We only had to do that if we were chaperoning an overnight field trip. I never did the chaperone thing, so didn't have to do the class. During COVID we finally realized the catholic school we were in was just an extension of public schools, since the NO Archdiocese just does whatever the State says.

Our youngest goes to BR High which costs us like $200/yr. My point is that you can send your kids to public schools in many areas of LA, you just have to move to the suburbs and commute, which is what most people in Texas are doing too.

I'd pay 10k to save 1.5/hrs per day of commuting for me and my wife. That would be become less of a deal with 2 or 3 kids though
