Why Taylor Swift Getting Booed at the Super Bowl was Even More Chilling Than You Think
I provided the link but suggest you don’t even click on it. Here’s the TLDR:
OMG SO CHILING
Trump bad
Men bad
“I’m ignoring the facts and painting this how I want to paint it to prove my point”

“I’m ignoring the facts and painting this how I want to paint it to prove my point”

Since Donald Trump took office, there have been several times I felt chilled by the rapid increase in misogyny seeping in our culture. But watching Taylor Swift at Super Bowl LIX booed by a crowd of thousands on Sunday night was a new low.
quote:
But I was there at the game. When Swift’s face appeared on the Jumbotron, an almost instant—and distinctly male—dissent erupted from around me.
quote:
(of course, there were those in the crowd who booed the president and cheered for Swift as well, but from my vantage point, it was clear what the overall sentiment was).
quote:
To me, the disparate reactions felt like a message. That the Super Bowl, one of the biggest cultural events in the country, has been reclaimed by Trump and the type of toxic masculinity he appears to be the beacon of. And he and his supporters seem to be living for it.
quote:
By calling her out, Trump looked to play by the now-standard internet misogyny playbook. It wasn’t enough that Swift was publicly mocked, now he needed to troll her about it, attempting to humiliate her even further. We all got normalized to this sort of conduct in 2016, when the president mocking his apparent enemies on Twitter became a near daily occurrence (surely he has something better to do, right?). But it's still worth calling out how gross—and frankly ridiculous—this sort of conduct is. And when the Twitter rant becomes real life, in the form of a stadium full of thousands and thousands of people, it's chilling. The online bullies of 2016 are now, in 2025, very real.

That is a melt
It was also very strange and extremely petty for Trump to tweet what he did. All swift did was simply not vote for him and then go watch her boyfriend play football
Not sure why the president of the USA feels so small he needs to talk shite about that

Because he's a petty person. Anyone that disagrees with him, no matter how little, he went out of his way to make it known.

She is the most famous Cheifs fan, she is going to get booed by all the other teams fans, especially a team like Philly.

Her getting booed makes sense. The Trump tweet is just kinda embarrassing

Why is it embarrassing?

Why is it embarrassing?
She didn’t run a smear campaign against him, she simply made one comment about supporting Harris
She didn’t have TDS, she simply didn’t vote for him. She is still great public friends with Majomes wife who is a public Trump supporter
Swift is kinda what republicans “claim”’they want. Vote differently but at the end of the day still be a normal person and don’t “reee” and sky scream because someone votes differently than you
In this case Trump is the one “reeeeing” because someone voted differently than him….

She made the decision to publicly pick a side and bring politics into her sphere. You don’t have to take her poster down though.,, you can keep it up.

I mean, endorsing Kamala to her 100 million followers is a little more than simply not voting for him.

I mean isn’t that kinda what we want in America?
Feel free to publicly state your beliefs in a cordial manner and not smear other people while doing so?
I mean people that shite on Mahomes wife for supporting Trump publicly were losers. Everyone here said so
What exactly is someone that shits on swift for supporting her candidate?
People like Mark Hamil deserve to be ridiculed. Same with many others in media. I just think swift isn’t one of those and it looks ridiculous to go after her as the president

Naw. She coordinated with the Harris campaign to publicly endorse her after the debate and even used the “childless cat lady” line
She waded into the political arena first
I do think she should be ignored and not hated for it, though. She’s just another out of touch excessively rich celebrity

Not only that, her dad was a huge Philly fan and she was raised a Philly fan. She literally has a song about her wearing her Eagle's shirt. They look at her as she is a traitor.

Philly fans have always been know for the level headedness though, so it's odd that they booed her for cheering for another team on the biggest stage of the NFL.

Why derail the thread with your politics? She was booed by every eagles fan and a portion of the Chiefs fans. It isn’t that hard to understand
