Plus look at me. I paid way too much for a gas stovetop.

Jokes on you, I got it for 50% off, $799 instead of $1599

4" grinder and buy a stone cutting wheel. Put some good tape down on top. Pop yourself a line. Have a good shopvac and start cutting. Make small passes at first till you are a good 1/4" down. Then cut all the way thru. Always put the grinder to you which gives you better control. Be ready to clean dust for days.

I used a circle saw and a grinder to do a shite load of counter tops in my guest house build. Had to custom cut everything. Picked up some old used stuff for $125. Not the best color, but it's a guest house.

I did mine with a grinder

Tent the area above it with visqueen
Will keep most of the dust confined

get a 4.5" grinder with a few blades and trim it your self. Also get a helper to hold a vacuum to catch the dust you will make by cutting the stone.

This actually works. We had this same problem, and I bought some diamond blades for the 4-1/2" grinder, and then I strapped the 4" vac hose from my shop dust removal system to the grinder and went to town.

Be sure to use good goggles, a respirator or facemask, a hard hat, and a thick long sleeve shirt and gloves, as the chips will be flying.

Also not a bad idea to put a big fan blowing in a window, and another one sucking out, so you can exhaust everything not caught by the vacuum system. Otherwise you'll have a real mess. Get a good draft going before you start.

Update:

Got it cut today, the guy charged me $75. He cleaned up afterwards and everything. He is the installer for Gorman Bro’s.

It took 20 mins.
