So if it is...what’s the big deal?

If it’s a female, cool and name her Lucky.
It’s it’s a boy, even cooler and name him Lucky.
Either way you’re a good dude for doing that.

Get matching eye patches. Can’t wait for the Christmas card. It was meant to be.

I’m not naming it lucky. That’s a lame name.
Now, if it’s a male, and that eye really is done for...

You must raise it in the way of the Ninja to get revenge when it is old enough. With that said it’s name should be booger.

Was about to spend $2400 on a new English Golden Retriever pup when I was contacted by a local breeder I'd previously contacted who had one pup left, and the woman told me her husband had passed away two days ago and she didn't have time to deal with the puppy and asked me if I would come take it off her hands, no charge? I offered to pay her something, but she refused. Said it meant more to her at this time to pass along some happiness. Sad for her, but my kids are excited. Going tomorrow to pick it up.

It'll have a trisomy of the sex chromosomes. In cats, the genes for coat coloring (other than white, which is linked to different genes on another chromosome and comes about by inactivation of the gene for color) is linked to the X chromosome. Since calicos have two colors in addition to white, two X chromosomes are required, one for each color. So you see it in females, which have XX sex chromosomes, fairly regularly and it's no big deal. Normal males, however, have XY sex chromosomes; Since they only have one X chromosome, male cats typically only can display one color other than white. For a male to have three colors would mean it has a genetic disorder and is an XXY male (Kleinfelter syndrome).
It would almost certainly be sterile, though it otherwise would probably be fairly normal... for a cat.
