Any of them at the moment is actually pretty easy to get in but that window is closing. CCL and BRCC is running a deal for young professionals to get in at a steal, BRCC is kinda lame golf wise and a much older crowd IMO and if golf is your thing then CCL trumps them all. I wouldn't join UClub because of all of the tournament play and never being able to get a tee time there, CCL would be my choice if I lived in the BR area hands down.

Couldn't agree more.

Haven't played it since Tip & Tuck, might hit it Saturday, but no I wouldn't join LaTour for what they are asking come Feb 1, yet that date keeps getting pushed back every month

Best sugarcane field course ever doe

It's still $25,000 down and $600 per month.

If you are old as frick then yea......But it keeps the poors and ones crying over a tee time out, everytime I've played it, whether during the week or weekend I've never had to wait on anyone on a tee box or to get out of the way, that goes a long way IMO.

I would probably pick BRCC.

You don't pick BRCC. BRCC picks you.

BRCC is like 4 minutes from my house. But I can't see myself having $30k in 5-6 years to spend on Club fees.

Rees Jones.

I have a Morning Advocate photo framed in my office of Arnold Palmer putting on 18 to win The Baton Rouge Open in 1960 with my mother on the side of the green facing the camera at Baton Rouge Country Club.

The Baton Rouge Open of 1961 was also won by Arnold Palmer. Want to know which course? Sherwood Forest Country Club.

Fun facts for the thread.

Average age is probably 50/55..but the current membership drive has brought in a good group of 30 somethings. Quite a good deal IMO.
Im 37 and have been a member for 5 years. Lots of plans for near future improvement. Good time to join. We need more in this age range to help push the club to develop the areas that benefit others than just "old timers".

My Grandpa used to be a member. Every time I went with him, everyone seemed in their 60's.
He switched to Pelican Point about 4 years ago. Got tired of the hour commute to play twice a week.

A lot of those "older guys" at BRCC have younger wives.

That place is about as good as Cadillac Cafe or Sullivans for pulling some fine 35-45 year old tail.

Ccl has a special right now. They're recruiting younger members. I don't know the exact number, but below 41 is around 10 grand for a golf membership. It's normally 27. Br cc is normally 40 but they have a junior member deal also. I believe at brcc you end up paying the full amount you just spread it over time.

I don't know the details, but like I said---it's basically half the normal cost of the stock. I want to say it was 12k for new members, and like 7-9k if you were already a tennis member. The monthly fees were less also. Normally a golf member pays about 600/month. I think with the special it's 3-400. Again, it's been a while since they sent the mailer to us so the exact details escape me. Call them, they'll be happy to tell you.
