Perfect assessment. Dude was so gritty and honest.

Honestly, I never followed him much until a few years back. I started streaming his Pluto channel and really grew to appreciate him. A lot of disagreeable opinions and statements for sure but still.

Bourdain had the ideal job. Travelling the world, eating at fancy/unusual restaurants and getting paid for it.

But it wasn't enough or maybe he realized it was a false pursuit.

Was there an explanation as to why he took his life?

His posthumous fight gives some insight to the rest of his life.
