He wasn't my favorite guy in the world, but this is terrible. RIP.

Damn...awuful news

I've read all of his books and watched all of his shows. Huge fan.

I don't get it. And hopefully I'll never understand it.

Goddamn.

That is sad, always enjoyed watching or listening to him. Seemed like a cool guy that one could have a conversation with for hours over any number of things (food, cultures, travel, history, art, etc.). I wonder if he was diagnosed with something bad and didn't want to go out like that because he sure seemed to have a good life otherwise.

Just goes to show that celebrity status, a great job, and all the pleasures of life can’t bring you happiness alone. Very very sad.

Very true.

Yeah usually I don’t give a tip about dead celebs but this one sucks.

Got a little too liberal/political the last year or two, but No Reservations was a fantastic show that really got me into cooking and got me really wanting to travel more. Parts Unknown was very good too.

He’s been angry lately with trump and didn’t seem like he wanted to live life with him in charge

More celebrities need to follow his example.

Bourdain probably had the most impact in the last 2 decades concerning people's willingness and desire to travel, try new foods, and just try new experiences than anybody else

Lately? Dude's been upset forever, mad and depressed at the world. I enjoyed his show because he did so many things no one else did, I love travel food shows.

But part of his show has always been bringing to life the darkness and issues of anywhere he visited.
