While bourdain has seen every corner of the earth, eat/drank everything and made millions.
You're right. It must have been great to be Anthony Bourdain.

Minus the part where he hated existence SO much that he finally killed himself.

I'm fairly sure Bourdain was loved by his wife and daughter.

Trumpkins and Obamanuts are two sides to the same delusional coin.
This is getting sad.

And all his friends. Including the friend that found him in his hotel room.

Exactly. The whole "only people who don't commit suicide are loved" bit is a fricking moronic thing to say.

you can't expect most of the mouthbreathers here celebrating to be sad over Bourdain. Most of them are afraid to travel to the West Coast for a nice meal, let alone Barcelona or Tokyo. Not that they could afford to anyway.

Successful therapy could even eliminate the need for medicine in some cases.

I'm sure it works for many, but I would believe most times serious depression isn't something therapy alone could fix.

Most likely never actually sat down to enjoy an episode of Parts Unknown cause that would have meant they had to put CNN on.

Can everyone take the political nonsense elsewhere? You're doing the very thing you're complaining about with the "stupid, poor, Trumpkin" routine.

Yet they ignore the fact that he praises places like West Virginia and called him smug.

are we supposed to ignore the number of people celebrating this guy's death ? Look I like a bunch of the things Trump has done in office but his followers are just insufferable sometimes. The people on here gleefully posting about his suicide are doing so because they resented his perceived politics. The context is inescapable.

or that one of the whole points of his shows was to visit people from completely different walks of life and connect with them. We need more people like that

Nice story about Bourdain. RIP.

quote:

@EvanBenn

In 2010, I covered a @Bourdain book-tour stop at #stl’s @TheFoxTheatre where a boy with leukemia asked his culinary idol where he should go eat - anywhere in the world - once he’s in remission. Bourdain didn’t hesitate: Spain. But then
after @Bourdain left town and our story about the tour appearance ran, his assistant reached out to me, privately. Bourdain wanted to help send this kid to Spain and make it the time of his life. So, with the help of @MakeAWish, Evan Piña-White went to Spain. We wrote about that - LINK … - but the story doesn’t mention Bourdain’s involvement (per his wishes). He set the kid up at the best restaurants & helped make the trip incredible. He was special.

I don't consider it a tragedy for the deceased, it's exactly what they wanted. I consider it a tragedy for those who were close to the deceased and have to pick up the pieces.
