no need to be a prick about it. the guy punching your 1500 calorie order in to the ipad probably isn't the guy who set it to ask for a tip.

has definitely eaten/drank all kinds of bodily fluids/hairs if he treats his server like this when he goes out to eat. yikes, wouldn't want to ever be in his party

I always tip. I’m just so happy to see somebody actually working that i can’t help but encourage them to keep it up.

I deliver for a platform that shall remain nameless here in Finland. They typically do not tip here. I never would ask for a tip. Hell, I'm happy if someone just says thank you or smiles. Hell we get people that barely open the door enough to fit the food through the door just so they don't have to say "hi" to us.

times have changed on broadway. it used to be home to newcomers trying to get noticed and get a gig with a touring name. now, it's home to some of the best musicians around, many of whom have gotten off the tour bus and want to stay home.
two top notch bass players out of Monroe are good examples. One toured with Luke Bryan for years, and the other toured with Tracy Lawrence, julianne hough, chuck wickes, and most recently trace adkins. Both have gotten off the road and are playing bar gigs. They basically play for tips.

I do not mind tipping the band if there is no cover. If there is a cover, the band usually gets at least half.
If there is no cover, the band is playing for next to nothing, and relying on tips.

Tippings is stupid and archaic but just save the cent and select no tip. Handing someone food isn't some magic trick that needs to be rewarded. I'd rather tip the person who put everything together in a timely fashion.
