I can't tell you anything about dating, I haven't "dated" in nearly 30 years.
I can, however, offer advice from a broader perspective.
1. Forget about having things in common with the woman. I have been happily married for 24 years to a woman who I have little in common with. She can't stand my hobbies, I can't stand hers and it is absolutely fine. Lifetime relationships are based on how you connect on a much deeper level than paddling a kayak. This is exactly why online dating ends in failure so many times.
2. There is someone out there who is willing to accept you just the way you are. Don't change anything. Not one thing... Nothing. Don't go through the huge waste of time and money to temporarily become someone you aren't to attract someone who wouldn't be into the real you anyway. That's never going to last long. Be yourself, always.
3. You will meet her. You will connect with her as you have with no other person on the earth. You won't know it until it happens but when it does you will do everything down to your last breath to work things out so that you can keep that connection with her.
4. This will never happen via online dating.
So, it's up to you on when you decide that it's time to make yourself more available in real life.

Not what I said, or implied. Have you ever been with a Dr. in a social setting? They are just another person until they mention they are a Dr. Then they are treated better than anyone in the group.
Scruffy has said many times that he outkicked his coverage. The whole package of Scruffy is what she bought, not just the Dr. part. I know Dr.'s that are assholes and alone.

None. Never really tried to date one of the nurses at our hospital. There are some beautiful ones though.

Only 2 nurses for me. Also a pharmacist, PT and speech therapist.
And dated other residents, peds residents are a good talent pool generally if you ignore the FOB Indians

I never dated a doctor. I had one of the pediatricians I used to work with in BR offer to set me up with one of his friends though. I didn't take him up on his offer though because I was stupidly dating my loser ex at the time
