Animals are dangerous lsupride. Was this particular animal dangerous, based on your life experiences and mental capacity? Again, we both know the answer is no. Would you have shot this dog? We both know the answer is no. Would you advise policer officers in training scenarios to shoot this dog? We both know the answer is no

No. it shows why animals are dangerous.
Between 30-50 people die each year in the US from dogs.

That doesn’t seem very dangerous to me.

Dad why did you kill our pet. He was perfectly fine?

Well son he looked at me funny so I had to put him down. You’re a pussy for being soft.

Man you must be drunk or just delusional. God help you.

I feel bad for your dog. You must beat the hell out of if when it barks or does anything not worthy of an Olympic gold medal.

Never allow a cop around your pet. Cops have even shot dogs in cages. If a dog doesn't like someone, it's likely for a good reason. They're a good judge of character. I'm surprised this cop didn't shoot the kids too. Never know what they might do!

Is that what that dog did here Looked at the cop funny?

But oh this is fun I like this game. The straw man Olympics. My turn

“Dad, why did Fido maul my face and permanently scar me for life?”

“Well son, Fido is a part of the family just like you. When he aggressively chased and barked at people I did nothing to protect you my human boy because Fido is just as important”

Sorry. Didn’t mean to offend. Just relaying peoples opinions on the tragedy.

Nope

I love how the idea of simply keeping your dog in your fricking yard and not attacking people is worthy of Olympic medal training though

That dog didn't attack anyone. It was playing with children.

Danger =/= a basic dog reaction that you should be able to comprehend and decipher, especially as a dog owner. What a dream scenario for a police officer, rolling up on a dog playing with children in the yard. Excuse me children, it is against the law for that doggie to be off a leash, wouldn't want to have to blast Fido if he barks at me :D - I know you are just a troll nerd, but underneath that troll is a genuine bitc h arse

Bad situation. The fault ultimately lies with the owner though.
I guarantee thats not the first time it aggressively ran up to someone near their yard barking. Probably happens quite a bit. And each time I'm sure the owners say "omg, so sorry. Really he wouldn't hurt a fly".
Yeah well the person getting rushed has no idea of the history of the dog currently acting aggressive.

Well, your scenario isn’t what happened. The officer never got to the property, he’ll, he never even got to the neighbors property. You know why? Because the dog sprinted off its property, through the entire neighbors property, onto the public alleyway

Ding ding.

"It's not the breed it's the owner" -- it's funny how all "bad owners" seem to buy pit bulls because I don't see golden retrievers mauling infants to death.

Pit bulls serve no purpose except to make trashy people look even trashier.

People act like if the breed ceases to exist that means we killed a bunch of dogs. Just stop breeding them. No dogs die in the process.

Honest question. Taking the legality out of it.

Do you believe the dog posed such a serious threat to the “trained” officer that it warranted the discharging of his firearm in the direction of children?

Personally I would have to believe there was an imminent threat to my life ending before I would shoot in the direction of children, and a 60lb dog sure doesn’t meet that standard in my book.
