So you're saying all officers should wait until bitten to take action? Should they use their taser on the dog and the owner pulls a gun out, then what?

Taking action is kicking or tasing the dog.

How many times have you heard an office getting shot after shooting a dog?

How about the cop, who ran over a dog the week before, use some form of sense and see the family running to get the dog. That way he won’t shoot it. But as many have shown the ONLY way to deal with this is shoot it DEAD. Yall are some damn retards. I mean real world pussy’s if your go to response is to shoot a dog as the only defense.

By the time the cop shot his was standing directly next to his cruiser. Could have kicked the dog, could have used a taser or mace. He could have gotten in his car and gone on his merry way because he was looking for a pack of 4 dogs, not one dog in its front yard with two young kids.

Can you imagine this board had the cop retreated to his car and that dog mauled those kids?

Lol. He dug in deep. We all know in his heart of hearts he does not think this dog, in this situation, needed to be killed. But! He was justified! Don’t be weak and gay lsu pride

Dude the L is yours. A dog off property aggressively chasing a human being has every right to be legally and justifiably killed

The only people here with any potential to be sued is the dog owners

People have zero ability to take responsibly for their actions or their property anymore. Little Fido isn’t a human. He is property and it’s your responsibility to protect both others and Fido by keeping him on your property

Yep. A warning shot to the dog. Until cops are bitten or shot they should zero reason to ever shoot first

The dog did the equivalent of a human sprinting at someone saying “IM GOING TO KILL YOU frickER” while holding knives. Yet, some are defending it because it’s a “puppy wuppy little fur baby

People have lost their minds with dogs
Good god is that ever true. I just checked and Davenport has a leash law. Dog on leash = 0% chance this ever happens.

ve said it before, I delivered pizza for 6 years. I have come accross Pits, Germans, Mastifs, Dobermans, Bulldogs, Sheep Dogs, Labs, you name it. In front yards, in back yards, in fenced in areas, on sidewalks and driveways. Had them run out at me when people opened the door. Bit ONE time....ONCE. By a mean little bastard Weiner Dog on my ankle. I did not shoot it...or anyone else's barking, growling, or mean looking dog.

BUT, I'm not a huge pussy. So, there is that. I mean, how does the UPS guy survive day to day?
Were you called out on to investigate a report of 4 aggressive dogs roaming the streets?

So just ignore the family and kids running at the dog calling it back and visibly trying to get the dog to return. Hell might as well been a mountain lion attacking that cop. Take your L and walk away.

What exactly does this have to do with anything?

that was tough to watch. cop was put in a terrible situation. i would like to think I would have reacted differently but the owners of the dog bare the responsibility of restraining their dog.

They are trying to stop the dog. You’re really that dense aren’t you.

That’s the accurate statement.

not really. the dog was in attack mode. it surely sucks. heart breaks for dog owners especially the kids. if you don't leash your dog, stay in the back yard.

Shooting the dog was an overreaction. That person has issues.

Death penalty for those who ever failed.

You are a very empty person if this is your stance

I feel awful for the kid

That’s the only person to feel sorry for in this video

No you made it clear the cops only action was to kill the dog and that it is 100% justified. Can’t feel sorry for anyone. That dog was mauling the officer to death.

Well it is 100% justified. That isn’t an opinion either

Sure you can. When cops kill murderers and other thugs I still feel sorry for the kids

You mean the dog that was playing in the front yard with the mom and the two boys?

This wasn’t one of the “aggressive dogs” he was called for. This was the family pet
