Well at least he didn't keep firing.
I really appreciate that. He did what he needed to do, but he gave the guy a chance to survive as well.

i'll protect myself, thanks. cop is more likely to show up and shoot my dog dead than he is to do me any good whatsoever

Justified, but the cop is lucky he didn't shoot the other cop who jumped in the car.
This is also true.
Did you notice the revolver on the floor of the car? Was that the perp's or the cops?

having a gun and intending to use a gun are two very different things. if it's on the floor of the car and he legally owns it.. so what?
in this trigger happy cop world i can guarantee you the guy would be dead before he ever had a chance to try and flee the scene if the cops were scared of the gun in the car.
i mean the cop shot a dude in the seat next to another cop. he's not exactly afraid to shoot.

The only problem I have with the video, is that the perp didn't die.

Unfortunately, no.
Worst part of this whole situation.

Damn that's pretty harsh. He was actually spot on. As soon as you run, the chances of a peaceful ending start going down.

He almost killed the cop in the car. And, he may have killed him if the other officer wasn't there to finally stop him. If you don't respect other people's lives, yours shouldn't be respected either. If you are going to play for keeps like that, why should the rules only apply to the officers? That is just insane to think that way. People are way to soft these days. Actions/consequences.
Did you even watch the video?

If he doesn't have a CCP and it isn't in plain sight,(not in the floor of the car), it most states I believe.
I seriously doubt that tyrone had a CCP and could legally possess a firearm.

perfectly normal, perfectly healthy, no issues with police...

Yeah I agree this is idiotic.
I ran from the police at age 17 because I was in court for a traffic ticket and an officer offended me by sniffing all over me. (I don't know why, but I've never drank or done any drugs) As he walked away I said "you arse" under my breath as he walked away. I did not even say a-hole, and I barely even said it.. he then said that's it and was coming to arrest me. I never been arrested so I simply freaked out and ran out the court out of just being scared of being detained.. I could have been shot and possibly killed over my anxiety.. but I certainly did not deserve to die just because I freaked out. After initially fleeing the court I did stop myself halfway down the street realizing even though I was scared to be arrested I knew they would get me eventually.. so I turned myself in and tried pleading my case. While at the station, they had me hand over my wallet and keys.. then they took me to another room for a further search and pat down.. they found $40 (2 20's) in my pocket and the officer said, "Thanks" When my dad got me out and went to get my possessions they said they knew nothing of my 40 dollars. I was upset, but just thankful to be out.
Beliefs like "you deserve whatever you get just because you run" are absolutely flawed. I was immature and should not have been so offended, but I still don't feel I deserved to be arrested over simply calling an officer an "arse" under my breath.. I was not a criminal. I'm thankful they didn't just start shooting at me for running.. Again, I get extremely bad anxiety at times and it does not mean I am guilty of anything. I've never been arrested since and they actually dropped the arrest off my record.
With that said, all situations are different and should be handled accordingly so. This guy here had another officer with the guy fleeing.. So this guy was a danger, the shooting here was most likely justified.. and again I appreciate that they didn't just keep shooting and took his life.

quote:Exactly! It is pretty sickening how many people say this when cops kill someone when they run away. If the suspect is running from a cop, that does not make it right to kill them. Like if a cop says get down on the ground and you just stand there with your hands in the air and never move, I'm sure a cop would kill someone for doing this and many will justify it by not listening to the cop.
Beliefs like "you deserve whatever you get just because you run" are absolutely flawed.
Also how many other nations are out there leading by example of showing the USA how to handle these dangerous situations without killing the suspect or anyone. Guns should be the last resort and not your go to weapon for handling a situation.

You actually asked if this was justified. You are an idiot. Should have shot him 10 more times.
