Juror? What the heck?
So you have never had a bad experience, does that disqualify you from having an opinion.
Question for you. Do you think cops should obey and enforce the written law as decided by legislature, or should they be allowed to enforce the laws that they want to be on the books?

You seem like a very angry person in general that likes stereotyping people.

I don't believe anyone is arguing with you on either point. I cannot watch the video in the OP as it requires some sort of download but I did watch one posted later in this thread from Youtube that was advertised as being the same one. In that one the subjects in question park behind the officer and had, apparently been following him around for some time. The officer, in my opinion, should have informed them that they were interfering with his investigation and directed them to leave the area. He would have been well within the law to do so. If they returned they should have been arrested.

OK. Do you stereotype blacks and hispanics as well? If you operate by the line of logic that is evident in all of your posts you are likely to stereotype all groups by the actions of the groups fringe elements.

I don't see how having a bad experience with a cop would invalidate an opinion on this subject. If anything it gives a person a little more authority because that person has personally experienced a police officer violating his rights. He can see how some police use their power to take advantage of people.

Weirdly enough, I've read this entire thread.
IMO, this video was a kid looking to rustle jimmies, and he accomplished that. I have no problem with the cops "pulling him over" (is taht what happened exactly?) to figure out why he kept circling, as that could impede their jobs. Once they saw he wasn't a threat, they should let him on his way to video whatever the hell he wants to.
As awesome as it was that the one cop screamed at that kid, it shouldn't have happened and the cop has to be smarter than that.
Props to the other cop who not only controlled his partner, but also was willing to take the kid's information if he truly did want to report an assault (which was hi
rious).

all around, agreed. feel free to ask him whats up if you are curious why hes circling, but you dont get to pitch a fit even if you find him annoying or impolite.

Some of you are the biggest pusses I've ever encountered. Circling a cop, on a public street is idiotic.
Can you circle a teacher in a public classroom 5 times and not be arrested?
Could you circle a judge having a sidebar with opposing attorneys and not be arrested in a public courtroom?
What about circling an IRS agent at his desk reviewing someones taxes. Should it be OK to circle that public servant doing their job in a public building?
Maybe you want to find out what the refs are discussing after a thrown flag at a public high school game. Can you get away with circling them 5 times?
The cop was asking for personal information in a public setting. The dipshite trouble maker had no business filming the scene for his personal erotic fantasies. His arse should have been warned, and then hauled in for unauthorized wiretapping of unconsenting parties.
And every damn one of you would call the cops if I circled you with a video camera while your were doing you job, because its none of my business what you are doing, regardless if it's a public or private enterprise

Oooooh...I'll play!
FWIW, I've found your opinions to be absolutely repugnant in this thread. Your desire to lay down to what you consider to be authority is astounding.

What is your gender? Male
What is education level? College graduate
What is your occupation? Advertising
What is your income? Comfortable
Are you married? Yes...for 18+ years
If so, how many dependents? Two boys
How many tickets have your been issued since you have been driving? I want to say 2...
Any recent? None within the past 15 years
how many times have you been arrested? none
How many times have the police questioned you? Why?
Once. This was about 15 years ago and my wife and I were still living in an apartment. I got called to the apartment office and when I got there, there was an officer who read me my rights and proceeded to question me about an incident that had been reported to the office. Apparently an older lady had complained that someone in an apartment across from hers had been "dancing around in front of their window naked" and she had reported it. After laughing at the idea, I explained that it was not me because A) I don;t dance, and B) given my location in the complex there would be no physical way for anyone across from my apartment to see into my windows because of a security fence in front of one set and the fact that I was on the corner for the other. To see in my window you'd have to walk u to it and press your face against it, which would be sort of infringing on MY rights. The officer would hear none of this, even when I asked that he and the office manager take a walk to my apartment and see for themselves. He could not have been a bigger prick the entire time. The old lady had named my number by name, and thus I was guilty. No charges were filed, but I told the apartment that there was no where I would continue living there and giving them money and insisted they allow me out of my lease, which they did. About 5 months later I got a call at my new apartment from the manager of the first one looking to talk to my wife. It turns out that the old lady had just made ANOTHER complaint and this time they had her walk over and point out the apartment, and it wasn't the one I had been living in. She was calling to ALLEVIATE ANY FEARS MY WIFE MAY HAVE HAD THAT I HAD ACTUALLY DONE THIS!!! As if she ever thought that. After explaining to her how and in which ways she could go frick herself, I explained just how much money and stress her AND the officer's lack of giving a frick about the truth had cost me.
Have you ever been in jail? Explain: Nope

Was he circling the cop, or was he circling the block?

"business" is not the question, the question is Legal? Had it been illegal, the angry cop would have used his authority to arrest the kid. It was not illegal.

I am looking for some common sense and judgement on how to handle a punk who is trying to make a point with police and the law,- while at the same time being a distraction during this crime scene and was being disrespectful towards the police who politely asked "Why are you circling us?"
So for you and I and those involved in the crime scene this young man is not contributing to the benefit of our public servants who serve us (society) rather he is taking away. (energy, time etc)
We've got enough laws to fill the Atlantic. I am not advocating more or police overstepping their authority under the law..Rather, I am looking for reasonable judgement in this case.
If you are preaching "it's legal to be a distraction or tick police off"..and you yourself have had a bad encounter with police because you were with bad company, well, that so of impairs your judgement in my humble opinion. Because you are drawing off an experience that isn't related to this case.
I have no emotional strings being pulled here when asked what I think .
Others have admitted to hating police and do not trust them (yet have no run ins)... Ok, you're kind of disqualified as well from the panel which is to be comprised of people starting from an open mind.

Exactly. The fact that you DON'T see officers who simply say, Oh...you're videoing me? Cool. I'm good at my job, so I have no issues with that at all. Be safe and have a great day." ought to tell you something. If they are not in the way and are not ACTUALLY interfering, then why not WANT them to video your stop to ensure no one claims you've done something bad?
Hell...if it would be within SOP, I'd buy my own damn go pro camera and wear it to protect myself from accusations if I knew I was a good cop.
