Your accountant can’t just magically allow you to “opt out” of paying certain line items on your property taxes in EBR.

Well 3 years of me doing says he can. I keep receipts of tuition. Maybe it only works for elementary school?

If you were out of the state for a while take the % of the year that you were gone and deduct that from what you owe. Make sure you have records showing where you were.

Um, I hope you aren't actually doing this. It's called tax fraud. Not being caught or investigated for it doesn't make it okay.

There is no exemption for private school tuition in EBR.

From a state income tax standpoint, you can deduce private school tuition and costs up to $5,000 per dependent from your state income taxes.

I don’t think it would matter here, honestly. There’s tax proposals & renewals on big ballot elections all the time that pass easily. This state can’t so NO to taxes. I honestly don’t know the last proposal or renewal that was voted against in EBR.

I told my father that last time we were talking about it. I said its unbelievable the amount of times tax stuff gets passed and its not anything close like 53% in favor. shite passes at like 70% no problem.

Im convinced these people dont understand what some of the stuff means(they do word some of them tricky) or they arent taxpayers and dont care. Its ridiculous

$580 the cats bus system that is worthless and not used
$118 to the council on aging so they can steal it.

Not all old people “qualify”.
My 103 year old dad does not, and has never gotten a “free lunch.”

Annual Tax bill from EBR.

This is the last EBR tax bill I'm ever paying and I can't be happier. Counting the days until an impending move.

It's also insulting to get a property tax bill due during the holiday season. Way to stick it to the tax base.

I’m uncomfortable being more specific.

You are referring to income taxes. This post is about your EBR property tax bill. An accountant is not needed to pay your property tax bill and there are no deductions.

When folks that vote for a living, outnumber the folks that work and pay taxes, this is the result.

Without seeing any breakdown, I’d take about $40 million from BREC and put it directly in EMS’ pockets.
