I use them to cut boxes. The backpack I use as a carry-on is what I also use for work.

I accidentally left a knife in a carry on. It happens

I remember there being alot of talk about how south La was actually a big target due to our oil etc etc
I remember it being a rumor during the Cold War that South La was pretty high on the USSRs nuke list due to our oil production and refining capacity. I'm not sure how true it was.
We'd have been fine anyway hiding under our desks.

Well no shite. There are no box cutters at the location you are going to?

Yeah they fail the undercover tests routinely.
It's all theater.
You’re not supposed to carry a certain amount of liquids either
I’ve gotten through probably 95% of the time without having to throw away deodorant, toothpaste, hand sanitizer etc

What are you talking about? I accidentally left it in my bag. I wasn't purposefully bringing it.

I was in 4th grade. I don’t recall anything unusual during the day. Maybe a few teachers acting nervous but no one put it on a tv or made any talk of it. First time I can remember hearing of it was on the bus after school. Some older kids were saying that the country had been attacked. I still didn’t know what it meant or how. When I got home my mom had the news on and was crying. On the tv was images of smoke from I assume NYC. I’ll never forget that. She hugged my younger brothers and I so tight. Never forget this day and the lives lost. I love this country.

The NYU one, the Millennium Hilton one, and the one off Duane Park are shite your pants terrifying. The Hilton one shows a jumper land and shows the piles of people afterwords. It's the most disturbing thing I've seen
I had never seen the Millennium Hotel video and I've watched a ton of 9/11 videos over the years. That is indeed the most disturbing video I've seen, made especially difficult by how close they were to everything going on and also because the cameraman doesn't realize everything that's really going on as he's filming.

Yeah I had never seen it before yesterday. Hearing the bodies hit the ground and the terror in his voice is hard to stomach.

I don't know if their goal was strategic so much as it was symbolic. They hit our wallets, our military, and planned to hit our government, but none of them were completely destroyed.
The goal was to either intimidate the US enough to withdraw troops or provoke them enough to come and make more of them into martyrs which they then use as recruitment tools and grow exponentially. The latter clearly proved true just like in the late 90s after Clinton bombed them. It's the difference between fighting a country/government and fighting an ideal.
