On the subject of work emails, never underestimate the value of using the words "please" and "thank you".

That might be an OK shtick, not sure. But probably get tired of it real quick if I communicate with the person a lot.

I can't imagine starting my day off by googling the date and finding out what "National" day it is everyday.

Well, this beats the teams messages that are just "Hi" and then you see the three dots bouncing for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile you're thinking to yourself, "this is going to be fricking great".

I’ve been starting a lot of informal internal emails with “Hey Yo” but no one gets it.

I’m about to start ending them with “bye”.

Someone just sent me an email with just "PFA" as the body. I had to Google it, apparently it's "please find attached" and that ticks me off a bit.

I'd shite can anyone that abbreviates short phrases

Some folks put quotes at the end of their emails. Do people read those quotes? I don't.

Then how do you know they do this?

Hi Firstname

If you don't use a formal business salutation on a business email I'm not taking you seriously.

can you elaborate? I use Firstname when starting almost all new email engagements. What the hell is wrong with calling someone by their own name?

If this is on any email signature it's an indicator of colorful plumage in nature and should be an immediate human resources, on the horizon, warning signal.

Do not make conversation with this person. Limit responses to "yes" or "no," at all costs.

We had a company wide email go out a few weeks ago about copy paper or toner cartridges or some shite. It started with people begging people to quit “replying all”, then turned into a massive meme drop.

Seems like every Friday someone revives it and it gets kicked off again. Our company uses Gmail and I can’t figure out how to leave the damn recipient list.
