Ah yes. I think I suggested this animal awhile back.

When I worked at the zoo, this was one of the animals i took care of. I'm not gonna lie, id walk into many predator enclosures before I walked into these animals enclosures. We actually weren't even allowed to go in with the cassowary unless we had the head guy, an extra guy, and had shields to protect us. The female was no joke.

In the wild, this animal would have you dead in less than 30 seconds if you tangled with it

There is a video on YouTube about New Guinea cannibals. They say human flesh taste like cassowary. Just a public service letting you know that if you are in New Guinea and cassowary is on the menu, don't order it.

I've seen them in person. Both in the wild (extremely rare for tourists) and in the zoo.

#1 cause of death? -> Getting hit by cars on the road. R.I.P.

Also, cool fact, there are trees in the Australian rainforest that are only able to germinate by having its fruit be digested and seeds secreted by the cassowary.

Who would win in a fight, big bird or a cassowary?

It's cool that you got to work at a zoo. I've thought about doing something like that. Like volunteer a couple of weekends a month. We have a really nice aquarium here in Chattanooga and I thought about volunteering but I've heard from other people that they give you really shitty work that has nothing to do with the animals.

I don't want plebe work. I want to talk to the animals. And make lifelong animal friends. Or at least learn about them.

Yea they're gonna have you doing shite work.

It's probably a combo of trust and insurance.

Or they might have you in the kids zoo area with all the kids. Vomit
