I'm going to wait until Gravy finishes his autopsy and releases his report on his findings before commenting on this.

I am going to withhold judgment on that portion of the story until I hear more. Sounds to me like he was coming from the scene of a fight and ran into the police on accident. When the Deputy put him on the fence he realized "I am about to get arrested, that will violate my parole and I am going back to jail." And then the fight was on.

I was thinking this as well. My guess is he stumbled upon the deputy after getting into some shite and went "oh frick."

Family’s story makes no sense at all.

It's a bit strange but if no good video, who knows? I've seen some pretty bad shootings by cop where the cops walked.

In this specific case, the guy was seeking help after what appears to be a fight, so it's even more comical that he's touted as a good person.

He already had two 2nd degree battery charges on his record. I don't know any more than the article stated but I'd be willing to bet that this is just another one of the 99% justified police shootings.

Despite what SJWs claim, no cop in this environment is trying to shoot someone. They're all scared to death of having to pull that trigger because they know they'll be crucified regardless of the facts, especially in Baton Rouge. I just cannot see the cop shooting this dude unless he gave him a damn good reason.

It does happen but it's a very, very small percentage. The local rabble rousers and SJW response to these always tends to make me side with the officer until I see evidence to the contrary.

I usually feel that way, but it seems like there have been some bad shoots over the last several months.

This story covers all the bases

1. Convicted felon fights cop and dies
2. Family who lives on public assistance dispute the cop's account of what happens
3. Dead felon is all of a sudden a good baw who was goin' to college
4. ????
5. Lawsuit, profit

His record isn't relevant

This argument that people's past isn't relevant to their current situation is so fricking old and just flat out not true.
You people need to come up with something else.

More impressive prison record than Alton Sterling - this guy will be Gravy’s new gravy baby

Right? Past behavior is examined in mortgages, car loans, apartments, jobs, but apparently irrelevant in criminal behavior.

Every time they try to promote a criminal as the face of the cause it backfires a little more. People in the middle see it and then do the opposite.

This is seriously yellow journalism again by the Advocate. They stired up the Alton Sterling garbage and it meant clicks and papers sold. They want it again. Plus SJW reporters fresh from indoctrination camp at the Manship School with folks like Bob Mann. They’ll make a story if they have too.

How does one even come up with this moniker??

quote:

All he would have had to do was taze him but he shot him instead,” Ezeff said.

But why? Why does it take a Taser to remind someone that this is an officer trained to subdue me - by force or not, my choice.

was already covered in blood, approached a deputy who was serving papers at the apartment complex around 4 p.m

Literally, has this happened to any law abiding adult citizen? Sure, in high school, we'd have scraps at the dirt pits after school and we'd end up with a bloody nose - but never as an adult.

I try to understand the other side of the argument, but commonsense doesn't allow me to comprehend.
