Man, I know college kids do stupid shite and you never want to see someone ruin the rest of their lives because of a stupid mistake, but he should be old enough to be responsible enough to know not to get behind the wheel while or after drinking.gg

Even then, I know kids at that age tend to think "that will not happen to me", but when your actions take away someone's life, especially a 4 year olds. The book should be thrown at them. I am not one who supports keeping people in jail for a long time (because so much money is spent on the prison system), but examples need to be made with these situations.

I hope they execute him. I have no tolerance for drunk drivers.

Very sad story here locally.

I would be more judgmental of the teen if I had NEVER driven drunk at his age. Unfortunately, I did but fortunately I did not hurt myself or others.

Well I had the self control not to drink before 21...

So I will be as judgemental as I want...

Wrong board for sympathy. Everyone here can chug six beers and barely feel a slight buzz on their commute.

awful situation for all involved. He will, and should, pay a heavy penalty for this. I would be more judgmental of the teen if I had NEVER driven drunk at his age. Unfortunately, I did but fortunately I did not hurt myself or others.

Terrible for the families.

I wish somebody would help me understand why it matters the reason he wrecked. Is it any different if he was texting or eating a hamburger or playing with his radio? Bottom line is he was negligent. Doesnt matter the reason why he was negligent, just that he was.
