I'm still struggling with the whole journalist aspect of this. I would put journalist fourth, may fifth of my list of american citizens I would attempt to rescue in a war torn region.

It's a tragedy but I get what he is saying. There was nothing we could do to save him. And if they do have another journalist there won't be much for us to do for him either.
