First we would need to gather up all the sheep and goats from all over the world and put them in one place... that will draw forth the followers of Islam. Then we nuke them.

The best thing to do is end them. Task Force Black going in there without putting tons of boots on the ground and continued air strikes are the best course of action at this point.

Targeted assassination of capable leadership is probably our best option. Kill their most capable, keep the buffoons in charge. It's about the best we can do. Hopefully they do not gain enough capability to actually cause significant damage to our interests.

Unfortunately, our government has demonstrated an inability to carry out "pre-emption".

No, I do not. I have no idea the amount of thought you or they put into your posts. I also have no idea of the veracity of the data that your opinion is drawn from. The fact that you choose this place to post it indicates that your data sources are no better than most others. That makes it "lightly tossed out", IMHO.

It also makes it much less dangerous, since people tend to give this board the appropriate amount of attention. Carry on.

These ISIS turds aren't asking for the return of their imprisoned Guantanamo brothers, or else he would have gladly given them multiple ring leaders in exchange. He is inconsistent at best in his dealings with these people, and that is squarely on his shoulders.

In one case he negotiates a soldier (who may or may not have deserted/become a traitor), but then two reporters lose their lives within the span of a few weeks at the hands of the same people, and all of a sudden we no longer negotiate with terrorists? WTF kind of leadership is that?

You are damn right we are taking shots at the President. His office demands higher standards of integrity and character. He deserves everything he is getting as far as criticism goes.

I never said we could have prevented this situation or that we can prevent the next one. I said the way our president handles things is infuriating and he is a shite of a person and a horrible president.

I see the president as a thoughtful, calm, reasonable person.

If I wanted to describe a horrible shite of a person who doesn't handle things well....that sounds more like you, chief.

It's incredibly ignorant to look back on that and think it would accomplish the same. That was a unified, formal threat. They signed formal declarations of surrender. If you think this would do anything but drive membership numbers up for these types of groups, I don't know to tell you.

This is not a formal threat. As organized and well-funded as they are, they will never surrender no matter what the death toll. They would love to see us do that. The only reason we got away with what we did then was because the world was exhausted by the horrors of the two insanely atrocious wars they'd fought in a span of 25 years. If we took on that approach today, declarations of war and sanctions on us would follow.

Sometimes I wonder if this administration wants to fail in these matters. What else can one expect when hamstrung?

If by alternate universe you mean "reality", it's nice. You and Breesus should visit sometime.

If you do, it might occur to you that there's no such thing as a dumb president. That includes the incumbent and his immediate predecessor, for that matter. LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Carter....all bad on tv for one reason or another. All smart guys. All much more capable of carrying on a reasonable conversation in person than some of the lunatics in this thread.

Try reading about these people in depth, and you will develop a sense about their virtues and drawbacks. They all have both, even the one you hate more than all of them.

typical of the fundamental lack of understanding that helped create our piss poor middle east policy. Where are you going to drop the nukes to make ISIS surrender? i can only imagine the clusterfrick that would be going on over there had McCain/Palin been elected.

we've wasted enough blood and treasure over there. Best to just let them all kill each other.

Vermont?! Well, there's the problem. You are surrounded by a state full of liberal kooks who love Barack HUSSEIN Obama. Obama doesn't want to hurt any of his Muslim brothers over there.

If I were president here's what I'd do.

Internationally broadcast live from the Oval Office. I'd have a hat with 50 pieces of paper in it. On those pieces of paper would be the names of the 50 largest Muslim population centers all over the world.

I'd say, OK frickers, I'm done fricking around with you assholes. The next attack on America or Americans abroad carried out in the name of Allah and I'm picking a name out of the hat. That city will cease to exist. If there any further attacks after that, well, I'm dumping the hat. You say you're a peaceful religion. Well, prove it. Police your own from here on out or you won't have a religion left to fight for anymore.

God Bless America.
