Are the Seals attacking ISIS positions near the Turkish border?

The administration has been reportedly working on careful strategy to implement very soon across Syria/Iraq as I understand. We know this is going on here, and hope we act with efficiency and stop these monsters asap.

I'm little horrified by this, but in terms of it's effectiveness I can't argue against it.
ETA: What you have to ask yourself though, is it OK to kill innocent people to eliminate a threat to yourself.
Good question. The answer though is simple but not easy. Either we accept massive loss of life over there, or be prepared for ISIS to grow and with that whatever loss of life results from their growth. The math is simple but brutal. It's a matter of either them or us. Which do you prefer?

I wish we didn't know about these Special Ops missions. Having it broadcasted on TV really kind of blows their cover.

What you have to tell yourself though, is "better them than me".

oh I didn't realize that
I just feel like the media nowadays can really make a Special Ops soldier's job even harder in situations like this, where every news outlet on the planet is covering it 24/7.

This is the sad truth Darth. I cringe at the thought of ending hundreds of thousands of lives, including innocent children, but what other option is there at this point? We have reached a time in history where the ultimate "re-set" button needs to be pushed. If I thought that we, along with other nations, could put 500,000 soldiers in the region and affect a total crushing assault on them I would endorse that before a nuclear option. I just think that would bring other nations into the fight and result in WWIII and galvanize another generation to carry on the fight. As cringe worthy as it seems....we should attack the area with the smallest and least destructive nuclear weapon that we currently have. If the first one doesn't end this nightmare, continue until it does.
However, the scariest part of doing that is the precedent it would set for other nations with nuclear options. Russia could begin to "handle" their regional interests in a like manner. It is a messy situation. Again, I would prefer if we could go in with massive force , no holds barred, and just lay waste to them in the largest crushing maneuver that the modern world has ever seen. At this point, I feel that the sacrifice is worth it to end the threat to humankind. I just don't know if that would even be enough.

Nuclear weapons CANNOT get rid of radical Islam.

This is total and complete insanity, and a very dangerous thought to be lightly tossing out on a discussion board.

The easy answer is we "nuked" them. And while we did, that's an oversimplification of what we actually did. What made Japan finally surrender is that we made them understand that if they continued to fight, their entire civilization faced total annihilation.
This is a contrived argument and a twisting of fact to fit this argument.
The reason we dropped the bomb on the Japanese is because of the consensus estimates for loss of life were we to invade the island. There is no corollary here in relation to ISIS. Until there is solid evidence of ISIS's capability to cause massive numbers of US casualties, the nuclear option is and should not be on the table.
In fact, absent solid evidence that ISIS has developed nuclear capability, we would never consider it.

Why is it dangerous to toss out on a message board?
And, it was not done lightly. I qualified that.

You know I'm a big history nut. One thing that the study of history has taught me is that to defeat an enemy you have to break their will to fight. For some enemies this means make them see that continuing to fight will only result in their death. Well that won't work with ISIS because they actively seek death. They think that dying for their god is something to strive for. So what are we to do?
Find the identity of ISIS perps and start eliminating their family members. In other words...go Mafia on them.
