Man, that's such a good version. Once they get rolling, you want to do an eightball, get in a '70 Z1, and race to your death down the interstate.

Red neck idiots with all that jingoistic bullshite about personal freedom. A Correct Thinker would realize they are racistsexisthomophobes and demand they be banned from California so as not to panic our newer, better Cross Border population.

Lynryd Skynyrd was arguably the best American band.
Such a tragedy when they crashed en route to Baton Rouge.
They seriously were going to keep on going with the addition of Steve Gaines.

Great setting. Great band. Great song. Great version of great song.

It's just hard to imagine now that this took place in CA.

Better than ever in fact. The fact that there has never been an A List Hollywood film amazes me.

Yep. Ronnie was only 29 when he died. So mature, So polished.

I'd probably say that in terms of Southern rock or rock in general. I think the ABB had better musicianship (Duane Allman is the best guitarist to have ever lived and I will meet you at Sonic), at least in the original format, but they really didn't have all that many songs - they just played the absolute frick out of their sets. Van Zandt was an incredibly skilled lyricist, and Skynyrd's catalog during his living years is just plain damn incredible. Second Helping is a masterpiece.

My parents are visible in this video at 6:43. My dad is the taller guy near the center of the screen. I love this performance.

I've always loved Skynyrd. Oddly enough my parents were supposed to be at the concert in BR before the plane crash

That's awesome! Here's the direct link to 6:43 below. Is your Dad the guy with or without the ball cap?

I have customers in California. Two of them live in a rural area near Sacramento. Both of them have had state people out to their homes to inspect their wells. The state is considering adding meters to their wells to start taxing these people for using their own water.

No. Seriously. The state of California is considering taxing people for the water they collect off their own property.

I despise any new "Lynryd Skynyrd"songs post the crash, for the band was Ronnie van Zant. Not his brother, not Artimus Pyle, not Rossington Collins. Ed King was excellent in his couple of albums, but he never fit in. It was Ronnie's way or the highway.

Rossington’s slide intro is a timeless work of art.

Guy in center with shaggy hair. My mom is standing in front of him but you can only see her hair.
